For immediate release:
Date: April 27, 2026
At approximately 1150 am this morning, the Coloma Fire Department was paged to the Village of Coloma for the smell of something burning inside a business.
Upon crew arrival we found smoke showing from the rear of the building. Fire conditions rapidly deteriorated with heavy fire found in the attic area. Interior attack was started on sides A and C. Structural concerns moved us to defensive operations. The MABAS box alarm system was used and taken to the 4th alarm. Strong gusty winds and building construction hampered efforts to control the fire. The structure was a total loss. There were no injuries to firefighters or occupants.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
