The Department of History is looking for an elite team of student volunteers to serve as Ambassadors and represent the Department of History at new student, outreach, and community events for the 2026-2027 academic year. This professional development role provides an opportunity to further develop communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Please contact Dr. Lorien Foote, [email protected], to complete the Google Doc application form (and include an essay response) by Friday, April 24, 2026. The successful candidates will be notified by May 8, 2026.

Congratulations to History Department PhD candidate Tristan Krause, whose short video about his work with Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) recently won a Lone Star Emmy for best military-related short form or long form content! This is a remarkable achievement, as well as further evidence of the amazing work our programs graduate students are doing every day!

The History Graduate Student Organization (HGSO) at Texas A&M University is proud to announce that the department’s 16th annual graduate and undergraduate history student conference will be held here on campus from February 20-21! Anyone interested in presenting should submit an abstract and CV by November 21, as described in the flyer. Hope to see y’all there!
