Jabreon Jackson recently represented the EAHR community at AERA 2026 in Los Angeles, one of the largest gatherings of education scholars and professionals in the world. Surrounded by thousands of researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders, Jabreon engaged in meaningful conversations, explored new ideas, and built connections with colleagues and peers from across the country. Her experience also included time with renowned scholar Gloria Ladson-Billings, AERA President, and celebrated author Maisha T. Winn, a reminder of the inspiring leaders who continue to move the field forward.
We’re proud to see Jabreon representing Aggieland with curiosity, excellence, and purpose on a global stage.

Behind every act of service is a belief that people can grow, rebuild, and begin again. Dr. Douglas Rice lives that belief through his continued work with Kairos Prison Ministries at the Wallace Pack Unit. Through this three-day ministry, volunteers offer encouragement, connection, and a reminder that every person carries value and potential. Since 2020, Dr. Rice has served as a dedicated volunteer, guiding conversations, building community, and sharing the gift of music. His service reflects leadership rooted in compassion, humility, and the power to create change in the lives of others.
EAHR proudly celebrates the kind of leadership that uplifts humanity and leaves a lasting impact far beyond campus. We are so proud of you, Dr. Rice!

“Softly call the Muster, let the comrade answer, ‘Here.’”
Some lives leave a lasting mark far beyond their years. Today, we remember Dr. Humberto Santos and the enduring impact he made through service, wisdom, and commitment to students and community. As Aggies gather across the world, may we each take a quiet moment to answer, “Here,” with gratitude for those whose legacy still guides us.

Excellence is built year by year, moment by moment, through service that lifts others and creates lasting change. Recently, EAHR gathered to celebrate 20+ years of dedication, leadership, and impact within our university community. These years represent countless students supported, ideas advanced, and futures shaped through a shared commitment to excellence. We proudly honored Drs. Jean Madsen, Christine Stanley, Vicente Lechuga, and Valerie Hill-Jackson.
Thank you for the legacy you continue to build and the inspiration you bring to EAHR every day.

Some stories begin in classrooms and grow into an impact felt across the nation. This week, EAHR proudly took the national stage through the outstanding work of the Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy & Learning (TCALL) at the 2026 National COABE Conference in Indianapolis. With more than 3,000 attendees nationwide, five TCALL team members represented EAHR across seven conference sessions: Dr. Glenda Rose, Ashly Winkle, Krista Mosher, Ryan Lett, and Gareth Wingfield.
This conference was especially meaningful as it marked the final National COABE Conference for Krista Mosher. With more than 30 years in Adult Education and nearly a decade of service at Texas A&M, her legacy will continue to inspire many.
We celebrate TCALL for representing EAHR with excellence, dedication, and purpose.

Let’s begin today with a proud EAHR story. Heesun Kim, a Ph.D. candidate in Human Resource Development, recently presented her scholarship at AERA titled “From Aspiration to Occupation: STEM Career Pathways Through Community Colleges.” This meaningful project was developed in collaboration with Dr. JoHyun "Jo" Kim from our department and Dr. Jungmin Lee, Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky, showcasing the power of interdisciplinary and cross-institutional partnerships in advancing research that matters. Alongside this presentation, Heesun also contributed through a roundtable session, continuing to bring insight, curiosity, and leadership to one of the field’s most important scholarly spaces.
An amazing moment for Heesun and for the EAHR community as our students continue to create knowledge, build connections, and represent Aggieland with excellence.
