"Like Hell We Can't!" Est. 1876 Company B-1 has a very long and rich history as the second oldest outfit on the Quad.

B-1 was formed in the fall of 1876 as Company B. Company B was one of two companies in the battalion that made up the Corps of Cadets. The other company was Company A, also formed in the fall of 1876. All cadets who entered A&M in October were placed in Company A and were trained in military tactics and drill. These cadets were equally divided between Company B and Company A later in the semester.

On 3/2/2013, Amy Pacheco and Miguel Hernandez passed away returning from Houston after judging a JROTC competition. A drunk driver had driven in the wrong side of the road and crashed into their vehicle.

Today, Company B-1 conducted a memorial workout for our battlers honoring both of their lives. Both Amy and Miguel were hard workers and represented Company B-1 well.

Amy graduated from Cesar E. Chavez High School in 2012 and had always dreamed of coming to Texas A&M and joining the Corps of Cadets. She came into the university pursuing a Construction Science degree with multiple scholarships from various institutions. She always had a smile on her famous and a giving heart. Everyone who crossed her path loved her.

Miguel came into Texas A&M as a General Studies major and had a love for the people around him. His buddy Arturo Hutera always said that he checked up or his buddies throughout their hard times they encountered. Miguel impacted so many people to better themselves.

In honor of both Amy and Miguel, the "Walk like MADD" is hosting a walk/run 5K to raise money for prevention/ awareness of drunk drivers. Texas has one of the highest rates of drunk driving fatalities. Let's make a difference and get home safely.

Howdy! It is time for the first BOTW for the 2024-2025 school year! Our first BOTW is our very own commanding officer, Rachelle Benitez Devilbiss! Rachelle is from Waxhaw, NC, is majoring in meteorology, and hopes to branch engineering or air defense artillery. When she isn’t busy looking at clouds, Rachelle enjoys being outside, doing crossword puzzles, and getting boba with friends. On the Quad, she also serves as the Corps Women Basketball captain and is a Alpha Company PL. Make sure to give Rachelle a BIG HOWDY if you see her around!

Although our ‘24 battlers became dead zips 3 months ago, their leadership has played a major impact in the progression of Company B-1. We are so proud of our Battlers and can’t wait to see what they will do in the future. Comment your favorite memory with the class of ‘24!
