It's with great pride that we share that the FSTC's very own Kendall Howie Ph.D. recently received the Texas A&M University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Outstanding Early Career Alumni Award.

This award recognizes former students who have graduated within the last 15 years for outstanding leadership and significant contributions in their careers, public service, and volunteer efforts.

We can't wait to see what else Dr. Howie accomplishes in the near future!

Dr. Pillai has consistently provided support and mentorship for FSTC students during his time here at Texas A&M University, and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you Dr. Pillai for everything you do for the FSTC Department and the University!

Shoutout to the Texas A&M University Department of Food Science and TechnologyTexas A&M Department of Food Science & Technology's very own Justy Chung for presenting his kimchi research today at the Texas A&M University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences 2025-2026 Undergraduate Research Scholar poster session.

He has been working hard under his mentor Seockmo Ku on the development of Texas-style kimchi using regional produce and assessment of microbiome dynamics.

Congratulations Mr. Chung, we can't wait to see what else you accomplish in the near future!

Today, over 70 volunteers will read the worldwide Muster Roll of the 2,749 Aggies whose deaths have been reported to The Association of Former Students since last Muster.

Congratulations to Jayden Ingalls and Matthew Stinebaker, for being awarded the Emily J. Prior Scholarship!

The Emily J. Prior Scholarship Fund program was established in loving memory of Emily Prior for her dedicated military service as Chief, Concepts and Systems Division, Army Center of Excellence Subsistence (ACES). After her military career, Emily continued as an R&DA member representing several food & packaging companies supplying the military food marketplace.

This scholarship is awarded to students in recognition of their academic success, leadership, service, and dedication to a career in food science, packaging, and/or related areas.
