These sculptures are always a hit with my students. You can do this at home with a few basic supplies. The dessert plates also work well!

These 5 things are on repeat at the end of every year!
Land of the free, because of the brave.
That feeling of turning ALL the alarms off!!!
After sorting out our old markers, we put them in a jar with water and a splash or rubbing alcohol. Can’t wait to see how these turn out!
My 5th graders LIVE for this project! We start by coloring a Chinette plastic plate (or a clear plate with the #6 in thr triangle) on both sides with Sharpie. I cover a metal cup with foil to help shape it into a bowl as we melt it with a heat gun in a ventilated area. Always keep the heat gun moving and stay away from the center as it will create a hole. We are experimented with different motions to create different shapes. Tip: Start on low and circle around the rim of plate. When it starts to melt after a few minutes, start making a zig zag motion from rim to inner rim. It will continue to melt after you remove the heat!
