Awesomeness alert!
AMCHS senior Kyler Larsen placed first in the Medicine and Health/Behavioral and Social Sciences category and the Natural Science Division of the Texas Junior Academy of Sciences at Texas A&M University, earning an invitation to present at the American Junior Academy of Science Convention in Washington, D.C.
Kyler's project, "A Deep Learning Approach Using Transformers for MRI Reconstruction of Undersampled K-Spaces," developed a new machine learning model to deconstruct and reconstruct MRI images. Once fully developed, this model has the potential to decrease time and cost of an MRI by 50%.

Voters to decide whether to approve tax rate change to pay for CSISD teacher salary increase On August 16, 2022, the CSISD Board of Trustees officially called for a voter-approved tax ratification election (VATRE) to be placed on the November ballot, with the additional revenue generated to be used for increasing CSISD employee compensation.

On August 16, 2022, the CSISD Board of Trustees officially called for a voter-approved tax ratification election (VATRE) to be placed on the November ballot, with the additional revenue generated to be used for increasing CSISD employee compensation.
If the VATRE is approved, CSISD will have an additional $5 million to use toward increasing employee salaries. The CSISD tax rate would still be lowered 3.71 cents, which is 21.99 cents (or 15.7%) lower than it was in 2017-18.
Ballot Language for CSISD Prop A:
"Ratifying the ad valorem tax rate of $1.1781 per $100 valuation in College Station Independent School District for the current year, a rate that will result in an increase of 6.07 percent in maintenance and operations tax revenue for the district for the current year as compared to the preceding year, which is an additional $6,519,285."

NATIONAL CHAMPS! Gideon Ong (Business & Law Ethics) and Will Wang (Java Programming) won the national championship in their respective event at the National Business Professionals of America Conference, while several other students placed in the top 10.
