The Clothesline Project is a visual representation of the impacts of sexual and relationship violence on the campus community. This event from the CARE Office provides community members with an opportunity to confront the issue of power-based violence by creating and displaying their own messages on a shirt during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM).

Hazing is not just a social issue -- it's also power-based violence rooted in power and control.

Hazing can cause survivors long-lasting harm, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and harm ideation.

Here at CARE, we value autonomy and confidentiality for survivors. We provide resources and services for those who have been impacted by hazing through advocacy and trauma-informed therapy.

Make an appointment with one of our clinical staff members by emailing [email protected]. We are an appointment-only office.

If you are in need of immediate assistance, please contact our 24/7 Crisis Line by dialing 301.741.3442.

And remember, CARE is always there for you.

Join us for CARE in Conversation: Alcohol, Sexual Assault and the Red Zone on Wednesday, September 23 3:30-5 p.m. in the University Health Center, Room 0141.

Enjoy coffee and donuts and connect with CARE and other students. We will discuss the connections between alcohol and sexual violence and unpack dynamics that contribute to the Red Zone, the period where a majority of college sexual assault occurs. Together we will consider what we can all do to create a safer campus together!

Bring your perspectives and questions, and pick up some self-care giveaways. Stop by as your schedule allows; all are welcome!
