Custom low-stress fi****ms training designed around you! NRA Certified retired LE instructor

03/13/2026

Hey all! If anyone on here is an NRA certified instructor of any level and is local to North Idaho please let me know! I need another instructor to complete an out of state qual and would be happy to pay for your time!

On a different note I recently became a certified NRA Chief Range Safety Officer and I'm scheduled to take the NRA Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor course in May. Its been a very busy year but I'm stoked to get back to training and working on improving and expanding my own skill sets!

I'm looking forward to bringing new skills and insights to my training for my students and you can expect classes to continue to evolve and improve.

Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted any training updates, and I’ve been meaning to update everyone for a while now.

Over the last year I made a big transition. I stepped away from private investigation and moved into executive protection full time. If you’ve worked in EP (or know anyone who has), you already know: the schedule is demanding, unpredictable, and changes all the time. I’m often out of state for weeks at a time, and trying to wedge classes and private sessions into the gaps between trips just wasn’t working the way I wanted it to.

The other part of it is when I’m home, I want to actually be home. I’ve been prioritizing time with my family, and I’ve been putting a lot of effort into finding private range options so I can offer a consistent training experience that’s built for my students.

All that said, I miss teaching, and I want to start getting more training posted again as my schedule allows.

If you reach out for a private session, just know my calendar stays pretty packed and I may not be able to accommodate short-notice requests. But if you’re flexible, shoot me a message and I’ll do my best to make something happen.

Appreciate everyone who’s checked in, stuck around, and supported me through the quiet season. Keep an eye out for updates here, more to come!

Had a great group at my Active Shooter Response class! Props to you guys for coming out and braving the heat to train and become better shooters and thinkers.

We talked a lot about what-ifs and different scenarios yesterday. On the same day you guys were training for an active shooter there was a mass stabbing in MI where a single suspect stabbed 11 people in a Walmart. Hopefully you can see how some of the things we covered might come into play in a situation like that, especially when it comes to engaging a threat around other people.

A lot of good lessons were learned and the consensus seemed to be that a class revolving entirely around the OODA loop, thinking before shooting, target assessment and the mental side of shooting was something everyone was interested in. What do you guys think? If the demand is there I'll make it happen!

Hey all, someone had to drop out of the Active Shooter Class so there's one spot left! Challenge yourself and learn what your capabilities are in a real life scenario. Target shooting is NOT the same as shooting to protect the lives of others.

Hey All, the Active Shooter Response class is full! Keep an eye out for future classes, I will likely be hosting this one again as it has been very popular and I believe it is an important one for anyone who carries in public.

5 Firearm Misconceptions you might believe 07/06/2025

There are a ton of myths and misconceptions around fi****ms from the movies and media. I've covered 5 common ones you might have thought were true.

What are some often-repeated misconceptions or firearm tropes that annoy you?

Omega Solutions Active Shooter Response Class 07/04/2025

Hey everyone, I was already planning on hosting my Active Shooter Response Class this month, however with recent events in mind I’ve decided to make the class completely free. The class will be held at Fernan Rod and Gun Club on Saturday July 26th from 12-5pm.

As a former first responder, it was incredibly difficult to listen to the radio traffic that day, knowing I was no longer in a position to help. I may not wear a uniform anymore, but teaching others allows me to be a force multiplier, equipping responsible gun owners with the tools to protect themselves and those around them.

There are no strings attached to this class. It’s free. All I ask is that, if you choose to attend, please consider donating to the Red and Blue Foundation in honor of the firefighters who were killed and wounded in the Canfield shooting.

This class will cover a variety of topics vital to know if you find yourself responding to an active shooter threat, including:

TQ Application and medical considerations
Height over bore
Draw speed and efficiency
OODA Loop
Moving to engage
Barricade Shooting
Moving targets
Law enforcement response
Final scenario

Note: This is not a basic shooting class. If you’re new to fi****ms, I recommend my Handgun Fundamentals or Defensive Handgun series first. To get the most out of this course, you should already be able to safely draw, shoot, reload, and follow the four fundamental safety rules.

Omega Solutions Active Shooter Response Class This year's Active Shooter Response class was a big hit! It was great to get a group of responsible citizens out there and give them the tools to succeed and...

There is an active shooter situation right now at Canfield mountain, with multiple first responders already shot.

It goes without saying avoid the area but please stay off the surrounding roads and highways today. There will be responding units from the entire area including a massive LE response and ambulances from multiple counties. Those men and women will be driving to put themselves in harms way for others and they will be doing at as fast as they safely can.

Being a former first responder it feels very helpless not being involved but we are lucky to have very capable LE here and I have to trust in them and just do what I can to protect my family.

If there are any first responders or their families involved in this that see this post please feel free to reach out if you need support in any way.

ACE VR - Virtual dryfire training 05/20/2025

Hey Everyone!

I know I haven't been posting much and I've had a bunch of people reach out regarding classes so I wanted to let everyone know I am still training, but I've been travelling a lot for work. I've been hesitant to schedule group classes as my work schedule is still pretty unpredictable and I don't want to have to cancel on you guys.

I'm still doing small group and individual training and I'm looking to start booking larger group classes in July/August. I'm excited to share some lessons learned from my new position and fill you guys in but that will come later.

As I said, I've been travelling and spending a lot more time flying and in hotels. I didn't want to lose my ability to train and I wanted something that would allow me to train in hotels and on the road so I picked up a Quest 3 headset and the ACE VR shooting simulator. I'll be writing up a full review on my website but so far this thing has been awesome for practicing complicated stages, moving targets like swingers and Texas stars, and overall making dryfire a lot more engaging. I can fly with it without hassle and set it up anywhere. Pretty cool system if you are looking for a new way to train or happen to own a VR headset.

ACE VR - Virtual dryfire training Just picked up a Quest 3 and the ACE VR system. So far I'm really enjoying working on stage planning and having the ability to shoot targets I don't usually ...
