Bishop Shanahan Seniors and PJP II alumni Aidan Civitella, Colin Cregan & Greg Palaia competed at the Indoor State Championship today in the 4 x 200. They are now the 4th fastest team in PA and broke the BSHS school record with a time of 1 min 29.82 secs
Aidan, Colin and Greg have been passing the baton on a relay squad together since 4th grade.

Way to go, George!

Congratulations to senior George Schaffer on being named a National Merit Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program! 🎉

George was first recognized as a Semifinalist in October and, after completing a rigorous application process that included academic records, recommendations, and an essay, has now advanced to Finalist standing, an honor earned by less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors.

Principal Dr. Moran presented George with a certificate recognizing this outstanding achievement. We are incredibly proud of George’s dedication, scholarship, and leadership!

Congratulations to George Schaffer '26 on being named a 2026 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist!

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of Semifinalists in the 71st Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. High school juniors entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2024 PSAT. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
