For parents who would like to delay giving their child a smartphone, it is common for you to hear that "everyone else has a phone." This tool can help you to know that you are not alone in managing this challenging topic. Once 10 or more families from the same grade and school sign, then the Wait until 8th pledge becomes "active," and you will be notified along with the other parents who have signed from the grade in a group email. At that point, the pledge is not anonymous and you know the other families on board. Your pledge is not posted anywhere or made known publicly. The only other people who know you have signed the pledge are the parents from your child's grade and school, and ONLY IF you have an active pledge.

The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until the end of 8th grade.

The Cavaliers will host the 27th Annual Cavalier Classic at Lord Botetourt High School this weekend. They will have 17 bands competing across 5 different classes. Following the competitive portion of the day the Cavaliers will perform their award winning 2024 show "Black Widows" in exhibition. Immediately following the Cavaliers, the Liberty University Spirit of the Mountain Marching Band will take the field in exhibition.

Congratulations LBHS CAVS! The Lord Botetourt Marching Cavaliers had an outstanding second competitive outing for the 2024 season. The Cavaliers competed at the George Wythe Band Festival Saturday in Class AAA-1. The Cavaliers earned a rating of Superior as well as several other awards in their classification.:

The residents of Damascus, Virginia were devastated by the floodwaters from Hurricane Helene. As they work to restore their homes, they need a lot of cleaning supplies. Our Starz will be supporting the clean-up efforts in Damascus, Virginia by collecting the following supplies through October 18th:
