I will be offering an initial EMT course this summer. The flyer is attached below.

It's less than a month until registration for the EMT class being taught in Clintwood. Students must attend one registration day, either June 27th, or June 29th, at 6:00 PM, at the Clintwood Community Center. The community center is adjacent to the rescue squad building. Classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and also on several Saturdays. The official start date is July 6th, and the class is scheduled to end on November 5th.

The total cost for the class is $700.00, including an initial deposit of $100.00 due by the first day of class. Students will need to purchase an online access to the electronic textbook for around $110.00 by the second day of class. This will leave the student owing $490.00. There is a program available that will pay the $700.00 for you if you are a member of a licensed EMS agency and meet a few other requirements. I will help you apply for the scholarship.

This course will require that you meet certain completion guidelines prior to testing; including attendance, participation, clinical completion, and minimum average scores on assignments.

As EMS Week comes to an end, I want to say that becoming an EMT was one of the things that made me into the person I am today. It's been a long ride, one full of learning skills, but even more, it has been a learning and growing experience. I've met a lot of good people over the past quarter century.

Happy EMS Week, everyone. This is my 26th EMS Week, and it's been 26 years since I first became an EMT. Time flies when you're having fun. There is great satisfaction in being part of a team that helps the community, looks out for one another, and lives good citizenship. There is great pride in having the desire and ability to ride in to the rescue. During a radio interview years ago, my friend Bryan Moore described EMS better than anyone when he said "It's just a system of people helping people."

Hello everyone. Thanks for checking out my new page. This page will be used to announce upcoming initial EMT courses and continuing education courses. EMS has been part of me since 1997 and I enjoy helping new providers develop their skills and abilities.
