It’s almost time to learn all of those beautiful new names and unique pronunciations 🗣️🎶

I am excited to try a lesson with this book with my elementary students: Your Name is a Song ❤️

https://amzn.to/3TAcMtE

What are your favorite ways to remember someone’s name?

Frustrated by a day full of teachers and classmates mispronouncing her beautiful name, a little girl tells her mother she never wants to come back to school. In response, the girl's mother teaches her about the musicality of African, Asian, Black-American, Latinx, and Middle Eastern names on thei...

My first time seeing this instrument at play was at Wizard of Oz rehearsal last week! 🤩

The Flexatone (it even has a fun name!): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002FOA9K/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_0ENR2B6P2DZ6ZTRAHKEH?linkCode=ml1&tag=whimsicalwedn-20&linkId=35669d1f7f725b558e1c52ade6a36f82&gaOptInStatus=true

It makes such a great and wobbly sound effect! Can’t wait to use it in the elementary classroom this year. I know the kids will love it.

Here’s a performance clip: https://youtube.com/shorts/MG1nFLEzpoY?is=XtYVm0rN-xeYYC47

You can catch it in action tomorrow night at North Hunterdon High @ 7 PM! https://www.clintonareastagetroupe.com/

The unique LP flex-a-tone creates a vave of eerie, saw-blade-like sounds through varied pitches.

Meet “Maestro Noodle”! 🎶🎼
My GSB preschool music class favorite!
I was inspired by a music teacher using a pool noodle and silly sound/movement to teach pitch direction.
I added in a slide whistle for ultimate giggles!
High pitches reach for the sky, low pitches hit the floor, and swooping glissandos give you a great workout! The kids especially love when he flies off the pool noodle 😅

Easily one of my students’ absolute favorites in both the classroom and my home studio! 🐸🎶

The frog güiro — the rare classroom instrument you actually don’t mind hearing hundreds of times a day! The wooden ribbit sound is unique, fun, and kids immediately light up when it’s their turn to play it. And it’s sturdy enough for preschoolers to pass around!

My go-to elementary games for this one:
🍃 Frog in the Meadow
🌴 El Coquí
🌊 Down by the Banks
Do you have any other frog songs? — I’m always looking to add to the playlist! 👇✨

Carved from a solid piece of wood for best sound. ?? Not only percussion musical instrument but also a feng shui lucky craft wooden frogs. ?? Using...

Happy World Piano Day! 🎹✨

Why March 29? Because the piano has 88 keys — and today is the 88th day of the year.
Perfect, right?

From Baroque harpsichords to modern concert grands, the piano has been the heartbeat of classical music for over 300 years. It's the instrument that gave voice to Chopin's poetry, Beethoven's fury, Debussy's dreams, and Rachmaninoff's storms.

Whether you're a concert pianist or just learning your first scale — today is YOUR day. Play something beautiful today.

What's the first piece you ever learned on piano? 👇.
