My Father-in-law, John Byron, passed away on Friday at age 97 - a truly remarkable man that many of you knew. Calling hours are this Wednesday 9/2/24 4-7pm at Allen’s Funeral Home in Millbrook. Services will be Thursday 9/5/24 at Grace Church followed by the procession to the burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. He loved a good party in his honor and we look forward to seeing his friends there and hearing more of his life stories❤️

Long overdue annual photo of Landowner gifts delivery day back on December 14, 2021!
Thank you to our new club president, Kim Malleolo for spending the day meeting landowners and delivering gifts. It was a super productive day! Hope you all had fabulous holidays and you and your horses are surviving this crazy cold winter! Only 42 more days until spring!

Another successful year of all Landowner Christmas Gifts delivered! Thank you Carol C for spending 2 hours helping me bow and tag them as well as riding shotgun during the 3 1/2 hours it took to get them all delivered!
While Delivering the gifts, I was able to discuss the WBTA with several new landowners. Of the 6 major parcels that have transferred ownership in the last approx 2 yrs that were previously part of the WBTA trail network I am happy to report positive discussions with all but one of the new property owners. Sadly the parcel that we lost was integral to our access to properties beyond Prospect Hill. A lot of work will need to be done in order for us to reestablish trails that direction. Once this pandemic eases we will have a meeting to discuss how to proceed in procuring permission from alternative landowners. In the meantime lands on the trail network beyond Prospect Hill Road will remain closed.
Happy Holidays to all!

From Denny Emerson’s page - something we are always struggling with as a club and why it is so important that all of our members open their land - we can’t expect our non riding land owners to open their land to us if our own members or farm owners that have boarders who want access to the WBTA trails aren’t willing to do the same. Something I feel will drastically change the direction of our club going forward - regardless of our differences or whether there is a perception of competing businesses if we can’t talk to one another and work together we all lose.
