Hear me out:
It’s super rare to be like “I’m gonna try to go without the epidural” and then go to place where they give epidurals and not end up getting one.
Because when transition hits- or when things get more intense- most women are like “ohhh wow I need to do something about this discomfort”
So if you want an unmedicated birth- take the epidural right off the table and put it all over your birth plan for them to not even mention it- or give birth at home where there’s no option for one haha 🤣

People love to assume homebirth is the “risky” option
But what actually makes birth risky is going into it unprepared
Yes, the research shows that for low risk women with a trained midwife, homebirth can be just as safe as hospital birth, with fewer interventions and lower c section rates
But that outcome does not happen by accident
It happens when you take responsibility for your preparation
Mentally
Processing fear so you are not bringing tension into labor
Physically
Preparing your body so baby has space and labor can actually progress
Logistically
Knowing what is normal, what is not, and having a clear plan if things change or transfer is needed
Homebirth is not a magic fix
It is a setting that protects physiology when you are actually ready for it
A skilled midwife matters
But your preparation matters just as much
That is exactly why I am building this
A small group, high touch live cohort where you get real time guidance, feedback, and the deeper prep most women do not even realize they are missing
This is not just information
This is hands on, real support as you prepare for your birth
If you are planning a homebirth and want to do this right

The “emergency” you hear about in birth stories rarely comes out of nowhere.
In the hospital, it often starts small.
Induction. More monitoring. Limited movement.
Stronger contractions. More pain.
Epidural. Slower labor.
Then pitocin. Then more monitoring.
And suddenly… it’s an “emergency.”
This is the cascade of interventions.
And it’s a big reason why so many women walk away from birth feeling shaken, overwhelmed, or traumatized.
In the U.S., 1 in 3 women report traumatic feelings about their birth. That is not random.
This is not to say hospital birth cannot be empowering. It absolutely can be. But that is not the norm when you walk in unprepared and unaware of how quickly things can shift.
After I started taking my OWN birth prep more seriously, using proven strategies to prepare my mind and body and actually undo the fear I had built up around birth, everything changed.
I went into labor at home with zero fear.
And not once did I wish for an epidural.
Want to walk into your homebirth feeling fully prepared?
• 100% confidence in your body

“Pain-free birth”?
Birth prep isn’t JUST about breathing and mindset
Yes, your hormones matter
Yes, you can reduce pain by working with your body
But if you don’t understand what actually creates stress in labor
you’ll break that hormonal flow the second things get intense
That’s the piece most women are missing
Real prep is deeper than affirmations
It’s how you think, how you move, and how supported you are when it matters
👀 I’m working on something kinda insane for you if you’re planning a homebirth and want the deeper mindset and body prep most women wish they had before labor begins

People are always saying things like:
“Why would you have your baby at home?”
“Why not just go to the hospital where emergency services are right there?”
And I get it.
But I thought these answers were really interesting—because we talk a lot about why someone might choose homebirth…
…but not as much about what women actually experience when they do.
One thing that’s really important to understand about birth:
A woman has to feel safe in order for her body to open and work the way it’s designed to.
For some women, that’s the hospital—especially when there are higher risk factors.
But for many women…
That place is home.
Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s “anti-hospital.”
But because of how they’re cared for there.

I know homebirth is not possible for everyone. I know.
But it is possible for more than the 1 to 2 percent of women currently choosing it.
“I can’t afford it. My insurance won’t cover it.”
I understand. Truly.
The good news is there are workarounds. Insurance reimburses more homebirths than they will ever admit. You just have to know how to navigate it.
Send me a DM. I can help.
“My husband won’t let me.”
Alright. We can work with that.
Have you done a free consult with a homebirth midwife and let him ask every single question?
Have you watched The Business of Being Born together? That one tends to open eyes.
“We’re not set up for it.”
Honestly, you need less than you think. Warm towels. A supportive provider. A plan.
The list goes on.
