Independence Middle School Football Players and Coaches Make a Difference at Special Olympics Event
Students may be on summer break, but the work never stops at Independence Local Schools! Just one day after the final bell, our custodians and summer workers are already hard at work preparing our buildings for the 2026-27 school year. From deep-cleaning classrooms to tackling summer projects, they are helping to ensure our schools are safe, welcoming, and ready for students and staff this fall.
Thank you to our incredible custodial team and summer workers for everything you do behind the scenes. Your hard work makes a difference every single day, even when the hallways are quiet.

From Worksheets to Wonder: Independence Local Schools Brings Science to Life Through New K-12 Curriculum
A heartfelt thank you to the parents of Independence Local Schools for your generosity and support of our Transportation Department.
At Christmas, our bus drivers were gifted a $300 gift card, and recently they were able to use it to enjoy an end-of-the-school-year gathering at Declaration Tavern.
The thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated and provided an opportunity for our drivers to relax, celebrate a successful school year, and enjoy time together outside of their daily routes.
Thank you for recognizing the important role our Transportation Department plays in serving students and families each day. Your kindness means more than you know.
With gratitude,
The Independence Local Schools Bus Drivers and Transportation Department
