Aroma Mom For Jesus

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

The victory I have in Jesus because of his resurrection should cause me to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Kingdom work God assigned me.

Because I have victory in Christ, I can be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. I can know that my labor is not in vain in the Lord. I work hard knowing who I work for and why I work for him.

The context is the key point of Christianity and why we gave our lives to Christ- the resurrection. It is the resurrection that gives us the hope and the power to abound in work for the lord, to be very fruitful in my labor. I only need to allow God to lead me in victory and thank him for his triumphal guidance. 2 Corinthians 2:14

55“O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
56The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:55-58

Dear Lord,
Help me to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work you assigned to me. Amen.

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. John 1:16

As moms, we stand in need of grace upon grace as we seek to heap grace on our children. Like Jesus, we become full to serve through our relationship with God our Father , by loving him with all our heart ❤️, mind, soul and strength. We stay filled up by studying God’s word, praying and seeking fellowship from other Christians. In all this, we hear from God and are empowered to obey him and find our identity and strength in him.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (‭‭‭John‬ ‭1‬‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

This is great news! There is no greater right that we have!

We get to be children of God when we receive Jesus, the Son of God, by believing in him.

You see, sin separates us from our Heavenly Father. God sent Jesus to earth to pay the price for our sin.

We have fellowship with God through Jesus.

Receive and believe. Jesus.

As parents, we have the privilege of teaching our children about the God who created them and what he commands for our good and his glory. Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples, teaching them to follow his commands. Let’s take our responsibility to teach our children seriously.

Aroma Bible Notes- my initial, brief thoughts about the

Yea-
From the Hebrew word “gam” often rendered “Also”. In the previous verses of Psalm 23, David wrote of God leading him in the pleasant, fertile places. He then remembers the other places the Lord has been with him. Not the sunny, grassy riverside but a darker place on our journey.

though I walk - we are always walking somewhere, on a continual journey, with God, toward the destiny he has for us

Through-
we are walking through, we won’t stay there, as my pastor reminds us

The valley-
dark, deep, foreboding, feels far from God and his heavens, his hills of help, his meeting mountain tops, the warmth and light of his love and guidance.

of the shadow of death-
that shadow of our biggest enemy, death, seems to loom over us in the valley. Jesus is life but he seems overshadowed when we are walking in the valley and fail to look up.

This is the situation as we feel it, experience it. So now what? A radical decision. A choice is made.

I will fear no evil- there is evil in the valley- temptation, despair, hopelessness.

On what basis is the choice made- My strength, my abilities, my knowledge?

No. Only because of the One who will never leave you or forsake you.

For You are with me

Jesus, our Good Shepherd, is not only with you but is actively caring for you. There is a cost to being a Good Shepherd. Jesus paid the cost with his life as he said he would.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

The prophet Micah prays for his people like this-

Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your inheritance, who dwell alone in a forest in the midst of a garden land; let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old. (Micah 7:14)

Being in the grasp of the heavenly rod and staff is the best place. No man can sn**ch us out of the hand of God. (John 10:28)

☘️ Saint Patrick ☘️- A missionary and a sinner, saved by grace.

There are many aspects of the life of Saint Patrick ☘️ that are celebrated on this day, March 17. I have been recently re-reading many missionary biographies, including ones about Saint Patrick.
Born in England in the fourth century, he spent his adult life away from his homeland devoted to preaching and teaching those who had cruelly captured him, taken him to Ireland and enslaved him when he was a teen.

Patrick ☘️ was a man who had seen the life-transforming power of God in his life when he acknowledged Jesus, Son of God, for the forgiveness of his sins.

The Lord opened the understanding of my unbelieving heart, so that I should recall my sins. Saint Patrick ☘️

He was born-again, a new creature in Christ! How could he not share the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ! His call was to a difficult place, a country where the name of Jesus wasn’t known. Even worse, it was the place of his captivity. How could he love those who oppressed him? He loved the ancient people of Ireland because he realized how much God loved him.

How could he not share this news with the most wicked sinners he knew, those who enslaved him? Most importantly, Patrick ☘️ knew he owed his life to the One who saved him. His life was no longer his own but one that had been bought for a price, redeemed from sin, shame and death by Jesus.

Saint Patrick ☘️ said, “If I have any worth, it is to live my life for God so as to teach these peoples; even though some of them still look down on me.”

May we also have a deep understanding of the love of God and the forgiveness of God that we are compelled to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and what he did for us.

As we celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day ☘️ today, remember the words of Jesus, in one of his final instructions to his disciples-

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19–20 ✝️

So Sharp You Didn’t Know You Were Cut

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (English Standard Version)

My husband was talking about razors. An object is considered razor sharp when it cuts you and you don’t even know it. Only after you see the results of the cut, the blood, do you realize you are cut.

The Word of God can be like that. The Bible tells us that God’s Word is active in our hearts and minds. Minds are renewed and lives are transformed when we meditate on God’s Word. God tells us that his word does not return void but it accomplishes all it sets out to do. God’s Word is good for many things including “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16)

But maybe you don’t feel like you are being changed. You committed to reading God’s Word regularly but you are not convinced that you are being affected by it. You are handling the sword but you don’t feel cut.

I challenge you to continue to keep your faith in what God says about his Word.

Here are some ideas:
1. Pray and ask God to show you any changes in your heart, mind, life or relationships.
2. Ask others close to you if they have notice any changes.
3. After you read your Bible for the day, write down in a journal, digital or paper, what the Lord taught you and how he wants you to apply it to your life. Agree with God to walk in obedience through the power of the Holy Spirit. (This is second ‘A’ in the AROMA Approach to Bible Study- Agree)
4. Keep reading and studying and sharing God’s Word. You will reap what you sow. (Galatians 6:7) By planting Bible truth deep in your heart and mind by regularly spending time with God and his Word, you will experience a changed life. God is faithful to complete that which he started in you.

Heavenly Father,
Help us to stay in your Word every day. Make it a part of who we are so we may talk, think and act like you. Take away any obstacles stopping us from spending more time with you.
Amen.

“So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.”
