There isn’t a week that goes by that an OTC employee doesn’t run into a graduate somewhere in the workforce. Whether they’re building custom cars, servicing heavy-duty equipment, fabricating stainless steel, working in transportation, or applying collision repair skills in new industries, OTC graduates continue to put their training to work every day.

One recent stop took us to Architectural Fiberglass Inc., where we caught up with Collision Repair & Refinishing graduate Rickia Simpson (CR-186). Rickia is using the skills she developed at Ohio Tech in a unique environment, working with fiberglass products used in architectural and commercial applications. During our visit, she shared some of her experiences on the job and gave us a look at the work being done throughout the facility. It’s always exciting to see graduates take what they learned in the classroom and apply it in industries that many people may not even realize need the same attention to detail and craftsmanship.

We also recently connected with Heather Mangus (WT-104) at Stainless Works, Kelsey Kovacs (RR-01) at Cole’s Classics, Spencer Shepherd (GT-72/DT-288) at Ohio CAT, Garrett Linden (VTT-33) at LandMoto, and Gilberto Ortiz (DT-285) at FedEx Freightliner. Each has taken a different path, but all are building successful careers in the skilled trades.

We love seeing where our graduates go next and look forward to meeting many more out in the field. 👏🔧🏗️🚛🏍️🏁

Students in the Rod & Custom, Restoration program recently got a front-row seat to a custom paint demonstration on this Corvette hood, featuring scallops, lace work, sunbeam fades, fade-away lines, stencil work, and fogging techniques.
