If we are honest and transparent we know that our lives, our inner lives, are usually not that far off from those of our clients. We certainly have honed skills, tools, education, insight and wisdom. However, we are human and that means at times we are filled with angst, overcome with sadness, struggle with fear and worry and even have hang-ups. It is from that place of our humanity that I think we actually do our best work.

๐ŸŒฑWhen your mind is focused on the negative, this is a symptom of anxiety.

๐ŸŒฑTo counteract and get your mind to look the other way you show it positive, you make your environment positive, try affirmations, look for ones that work with you. We can get grateful, think of things you are grateful for, 3 things! If this is hard remember your mind wants to look for negative because this is a symptom so don't give up keep pushing the good thoughts the good vibes. Try something that brings you joy, this can be big or small, from a cup of tea in your favorite cup to starting an art class ๐Ÿ˜ŠThe more you try to think positive the more your environment will feel better and you'll feel better, your mind will stop looking for negative & start switching off the hormones that bring us anxiety.

Why is this a symptom?

๐ŸŒฑWe have a human system that kicks off when we're in danger to survive, it's fight flight freeze. This can begin from a perceived danger, a visible one like being in a lions cage or seeing a snake or invisible danger, which is overwhelming stress that may have been constant. Which is why it's so hard to comprehend because it is invisible to us, if your were in the lions cage you would think feeling anxiety is normal.

๐ŸŒฑDuring fight flight freeze the mind has a job to do also & that's to make sure there is no more danger around, to be vigilante, keep us on our toes. It simple in the lions scenario because, hey, just stay away from lions. That's easy! But in the invisible case, it would be stay away from Stress! But it's stressfull having anxiety and for sure the situations that got us stressed are probably still in our lives, so bingo your mind is thinking negative. So to counteract this & show to your mind it's ok stop looking for danger we practice the above, anxiety reduces and we can then start to make our situation less stressfull. ๐Ÿ˜™
