What a great opportunity our President, Gabriel Carrilho and Treasurer, Zita Porter had to discuss diversity and inclusion with Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Toni Torres-McGehee.
Gabe and Zita were invited to apply to this month’s Dive-In lunch, where students, faculty, and staff get together to discuss why diversity and inclusion is an important value. These conversations focus on investigating ways to effectively foster an inclusive campus community and where it can be improved, a very important topic regarded by our SHPE chapter.
As an organization committed to diversity and inclusion, we will continue expanding our efforts to outreach within our community and empower minorities in STEM.
