Here is another quick question for you ....

The sum of two numbers is 42 and their difference is 6. Then which of the following is the smaller number ?

1) 18
2) 19
3) 21
4) 22

If you wrote linear equations and solved them to find the answer, then great ! But can you also find an approach to get the answer without using linear equations (remember, time is of the essence in the SAT).
