🚨 False Alarm Update

At approximately 7:13 a.m. this morning, D.M. Smith Elementary experienced a false alarm that prompted a response from the Cleveland Police Department and Cleveland Fire Department.

We are grateful to both departments for their swift response and continued commitment to the safety of our students, staff, and school community. Thankfully, there was no emergency, and everyone is safe.

Thank you to the Cleveland Police Department and Cleveland Fire Department for responding so quickly and professionally. 💜🐻

✨🥐 Pastries With Our Planet’s Greatest Grandparents 🪐💜

This afternoon, D.M. Smith Elementary celebrated some truly out-of-this-world people—our grandparents! In honor of Grandparents Day, our students had the opportunity to share sweet treats, smiles, and special moments with the grandparents and loved ones who help make their worlds brighter. 🌎✨

Grandparents play such an important role in the lives of children. Their encouragement, wisdom, consistency, and support help build confidence and remind children that they have people cheering them on every step of the way. When grandparents take an active interest in school, celebrate accomplishments, encourage reading and learning, and simply ask, “How was school today?” they help send a powerful message: your education matters, and so do you. 📚💫

We are so grateful to every grandparent and special guest who joined us today. The love and support you pour into our students reaches far beyond the classroom and helps shape the learners—and the people—they are becoming. 💜🐻
