Goal: The Empowering Women event was developed from a vision of strengthening girls programming at the Boys and Girls clubs of Cleveland by empowering adolescent girls to become distinguished in education, life skill, and character. Women within the Professional Community have committed to countless hours Mentoring girls affirming their Great Future by exploring future career paths. A Girls Busine
ss Program was established led by Women in various professions along with specific curriculum in Personal, Business, and Entrepreneurship. Maria Hernandez and Meeri Shin Southeast Region Youth of the Year and National Winners now serves as a shining example of the first fruits of this vision. We must now continue to influence our girls to dream big and afford them every opportunity to aspire to greatness. Objectives:
· bring more awareness into our community that younger women need strong female role models.
· Hold an event where professional women are represented as role models in the lives of younger women
· Open the world of opportunities through these same successful women
· Emphasize the importance of positive choices that can be made outside the realm of their own world through exposure to new ideas
· Raise awareness of the issues that all children are facing through involving more women in our community identifying the need for good role models and the need for additional support in every area of a child’s life to complete a holistic approach to child development.
