Ohio’s in-demand jobs priorities show the growing need for flexible learning pathways that support adult learners, employers, and communities.
CSU’s Division of Continuing and Extended Education helps meet that need through non-degree credentials, short-form learning, employer training, and applied professional education aligned with workforce needs across key industries.
Alternative pathways are not separate from higher education. They are one way universities help learners keep moving forward as work continues to change.

Meet the newest member of the DCEE team, Rishiram “Rishi” Singh, our Graduate Assistant. Rishi joined the division during the spring semester and has already become a valued part of our work.
Rishi is currently pursuing his Master’s in Accounting and Analytics at Cleveland State University, with a focus on information systems and a strong research interest in the implications of AI on accounting systems, auditing practices, and the need for thoughtful governance.
Rishi is also a wonderful example of the talent, leadership, and potential that universities have right on their own campuses. He completed his undergraduate degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance at CSU, where he was highly engaged in campus life and student leadership. His involvement included Beta Alpha Psi, serving as a Becker Campus Ambassador, and representing CSU in the annual IECC Ethical Case Competition, where his team secured second place. He was also the recipient of the prestigious PCAOB Scholarship Award in 2023 and was named the 2024 College of Business Undergraduate Student of the Year.
After briefly working in assurance for a large auditing firm, Rishi returned to CSU to continue his education and explore his long-term interest in research, with hopes of pursuing doctoral studies in the future.
We especially value the contributions Rishi is already making within DCEE. He brings curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help others. His presence is a reminder of why student employment, co-ops, graduate assistantships, and other forms of collaboration with students are essential parts of higher education. These opportunities do more than support the work of a division or department. They create meaningful learning experiences, strengthen professional pathways, and allow universities to recognize and invest in the talent developing within their own communities.
We are grateful to have Rishi on the team and look forward to the perspective and energy he will continue to bring to our work. https://www.csuohio.edu/continuing-education

Congratulations to Dr. Ronnie Dunn and Dean Roland V. Anglin on their retirement from Cleveland State University.
Both leaders have been significant partners in the work of the Division of Continuing and Extended Education, helping shape programs, partnerships, and conversations that continue to support learners, organizations, and communities across Northeast Ohio.
Dr. Dunn played an important role in the development of the Certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, one of DCEE’s most well-received credentials among area organizations. He was also instrumental in the development of the Certificate in Health Disparities, helping advance learning opportunities around equity, access, and community impact.
Dean Anglin served multiple terms on the DCEE Advisory Council, offering thoughtful guidance that helped inform important decisions about continuing education at CSU. His contributions continue to influence how we think about equitable policy, practice, and workforce development.
We are grateful for their leadership, generosity, scholarship, and partnership. Their impact on CSU and the broader community will continue well beyond their years of service.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Dunn and Dean Anglin on their retirement and thanking them for their meaningful contributions.
