We chose The Drake Hotel for this year’s conference for a reason ↴
It gives us a setting with real history, right in the middle of the city, and a space that supports both the sessions and the conversations that happen around them.
Over two days, we’ll bring together educators, tutors, and business owners from across the industry to share what they’re seeing, how they’re approaching the work right now, and where things are headed. We’ll also host the ACT administration in the Grand Ballroom on Sunday as part of the pre-conference programming for NTPA members.
Join us June 15–16 in Chicago at The Drake Hotel. Registration is now open.

There are parts of this work that don’t get talked about as openly ⤵️
Things like how to price in a way that’s actually sustainable, what burnout really looks like over time, or what growth beyond your own hours looks like are decisions best made in conversation with others who have walked a similar path
The NTPA Annual Conference is one of the few places where these conversations happen openly with people who understand the context and are working through many of the same questions.
Join us June 15–16 in Chicago at The Drake Hotel. Early registration is now open.

A good conference gives you ideas; a great one changes how you think about your work 💡
The NTPA Annual Conference is where you get to hear how others are actually doing the work... what’s working, what isn’t, and what they’re trying next. You talk with peers, compare notes, and leave with a clearer sense of your own decisions and direction.
Join us June 15–16 in Chicago at The Drake Hotel, with pre-conference events beginning June 14.
Early registration is now open. We hope to see you there.

For many in this industry, the work can feel a bit siloed.
The NTPA Annual Conference is one of the few times each year where that shifts. You’re in a room with people who understand the nuances of this work, who are navigating similar challenges, and who are open about what they’re seeing.
That’s what makes it a highlight of the year.
Join us June 15–16 in Chicago at The Drake Hotel. Early registration is now open!

Some of the hardest calls in test prep aren’t about content or strategy. They’re about how to handle the conversation when a student isn’t improving, expectations are still growing, and you’re the one who has to decide what to say.
Do you keep going?
Reset expectations?
Or say it’s not working?
There’s no single right answer, but how you handle it matters.
Join us on tomorrow for a conversation around all of this at the Hard Conversations Summit.

There’s a side of test prep that doesn’t show up in score reports.
Figuring out what to say when a student isn’t improving, being honest when expectations don’t line up with reality, and deciding when a client isn’t the right fit to continue.
On March 31, we’re bringing those conversations into the open.
The Hard Conversations Summit is for test prep professionals who want to approach these moments with more thought and intention, and learn from others navigating the same calls.

If you’ll be in Baltimore for the IECA Conference, save the evening of May 17.
NTPA will be hosting a meetup for members and others in the test prep community who will be attending the conference. Independent Educational Consultants are some of the most important collaborators and referral partners in our field, and IECA brings many of those conversations together in one place.
Whether you’re already part of NTPA or simply curious to learn more about the community, this will be a chance to connect, meet members, and spend time with others working across the test prep space.
More details coming soon.

Professional test prep providers share more than subject expertise. They stay engaged as exams evolve, think carefully about ethical practice, and value thoughtful dialogue with peers who care about strengthening the profession.
Supporting that kind of work is what the NTPA community is built around; ongoing programming, industry conversations, and connection with providers who take the field seriously.
Each year, these conversations continue in person at the NTPA Annual Conference. This June, we’ll gather again in Chicago on June 15–16.

Building a test prep business often means figuring things out on your own. Many providers develop strong practices independently, but that can also mean navigating industry changes, business decisions, and professional questions without many peers to compare notes with.
NTPA exists to bring test prep providers into ongoing conversation with one another through programming, affinity groups, and industry dialogue that strengthens both the work and the businesses behind it.

Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship
The National Test Prep Association honors the life and legacy of Jeanne Lucas, a founding member who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 8, 2022, her birthday. Jeanne was known for her deep love of literature, language, and learning, and she devoted her career to teaching, mentoring, and preparing students for college entrance exams. A proud self-proclaimed word nerd, she found great joy in advanced vocabulary and the precision of language.
Jeanne was a cherished member of the test prep community and built lasting relationships with colleagues while continually encouraging students to strive for academic growth. In recognition of her dedication to education and her lasting impact on students, the National Test Prep Association established the Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship to support those pursuing higher education. Her influence continues through this scholarship, which honors her passion for advanced vocabulary and her belief that a strong command of words can open doors to opportunity and academic success.
