Our students return to in person classes on Tuesday. We have prepared a little welcome back card for them that includes a calm strip () and a micropractice by to helping sooth their body.
Remember, self-care doesn’t have to take hours to be effective. The therapeutic dose for activity to soothe the stress response is only seconds or minutes. 🙌🏼 Dosing yourself throughout the day can be a highly effective way to create a more flexible and adaptive pattern of nervous system response.

On this Sunday, let’s check in about pandemic exhaustion.
The accumulation of stress and trauma over the past 13 months (plus the rest of our lives and the lives of our people) has many of us feeling totally depleted.
We are quick to name burnout, but it could also be related to two types of freeze response— a trauma response of immobilization that kicks in when fight/flight are unavailable or ineffective. For more info, check out the piece by co-director linked in our bio.
Take stock of the sensations in your body. How to resource yourself looks different if you’re in high activation freeze vs. low activation freeze vs. burned out.
