I recently visited the University of Michigan, my alma mater. Though I was last here 8 years ago and had not seen many new buildings on campus, Ann Arbor still feels every bit as charming a college town as it always has. The regular academic year had just ended but I managed to talk with a more than a handful of students who were staying for spring/summer term. They looked serious and focused as they crossed campus, including the iconic “Diag,” with their bursting backpacks. However, they were friendly and happy to stop and chat. I noticed a diversity of race, nationalities, and ethnicities among them. The overall "vibe" on campus seemed relaxed. The last stop was in front of "The Big House." Such a treat to be back!

I had the pleasure of spending 3 fabulous days on the campus of the University of Chicago during a graduation weekend. I had forgotten how gorgeous Hyde Park is, from the historic architecture of its stunning homes and buildings on campus, to the tree-lined streets and green spaces on its boulevards and parks, to its waterfront on Lake Michigan. But, it was the 20+ law graduates with whom I conversed that impressed me more than anything. They were sweet, polite, self-confident, intelligent, worldly, and set to embark on their next journeys and accomplish amazing things!!!
