Some people ask what the bees do during these cold days and nights.
They cluster around the queen and shiver, rapidly. This creates heat inside the hive (up to 90 degrees)! Bees are amazing creatures.

Our bees are all tucked in for winter, or they were. These warm temperatures have them looking for food. In an odd way these warm temps are not so good for winter bees. Winter bees are supposed to be lazy and stay in the hive and keep it warm. When the go flying they use more energy thus need more food. They can go through their honey stores faster.
