Calling all Sunset Junior High artists, writers, musicians, dancers, photographers, and filmmakers!

This year's PTA Reflections theme is "What My Culture Means to Me." Share your unique story, experiences, traditions, and perspectives through the arts for a chance to be recognized beyond the school level!

Students may submit original work in:

Every entry receives a prize! Winners may advance to the council, region, state, and national levels.

Sunset Junior High Writing Contest

Do you have a story to tell, a poem to share, a play to perform, or the beginning of a great novel waiting to be written? The Sunset Junior High Writing Contest is your chance to showcase your creativity and imagination!

Students may submit one original entry in any of the following categories:

• Short Story
• Poem
• Play
• First Chapter of a Book

A panel of judges will select the Top 10 entries, and those students will earn the exciting opportunity to attend StoryCon in Salt Lake City with Mrs. Herbert on February 5th.

Important Dates

Submission Deadline: Friday, December 11th
Winners Announced: Morning of December 18th
StoryCon Field Trip: February 5th

This is your chance to let your imagination shine, develop your writing skills, and share your voice with others. Whether you enjoy creating thrilling adventures, heartfelt poetry, dramatic scenes, or the opening chapter of the next bestselling book, we want to read your work!

Show off your creativity by designing an original bookmark that represents our library and the love of reading at Sunset Junior High. The winning designs will be printed as official library bookmarks for students to enjoy all year long!
