Holly also did some fun stuff!
She got a new personal best FastCat fun run time of 8.220 seconds. She's going to be pretty fast as she gets older. She's already catching up with Torques times.
She also went off the docks ramp, the puppy dock, and off the big dock today! She needs more confidence before we enter her in an event but she should catch on quick.

Holly wasn't wanting to go off the ramp for me the last few times I've tried. Didn't want to leave my side. She would go in if I was in the water though haha. So Taylor Brower was the bada** she always is and played with Holly while I took Torque out to go to the bathroom and load him up so Waco could take him home.
Thank you for messing with her! It definitely helped her realize I don't need to go in with her haha. Thank you for the video!❤️

She earned her very first sport dog title this weekend. At Top Dog NW
She got her Dock Novice title!
Who says show dogs can't do sports lol.
We are so happy with this girl.
She doesn't jump very far but maybe that will come in time. She also belly flops into the water, no matter how far you throw her toy.

*disclaimer* I will be buying this picture and others from the amazing photographer. Shes always so amazing and sent me a picture of Prada for this announcement since she doesn't have the album ready yet.

Welcome to my Ted Talk for the day...

DEW CLAWS

We do not remove dew claws unless medically necessary or unless they are not firmly attached by bone and are just hanging on by the skin.

Removing healthy well attached dew claws can cause issues later in life with arthritis.

In 34 years of owning dogs I've seen two dogs rip dew claws off and both were our own dogs. I've always had working dogs from hunting hounds, bird dogs, to working Australian cattle dogs, border Collies, and German Shepherds. One dog that ripped his dew claws off was an Australian cattle dog (this was 14 years ago now). He got it caught on a tractor step jumping out of the tractor. The other was my husbands GSD who is his current Service Dog. I believe she slipped on the stairs on the porch and got it caught in the crack of the deck.

Never have I had a dog lose one while actively working or hunting. Its also fairly uncommon for it to even happen.

If a pup doesn't have loose floppy dews at birth we do not remove them. We check each puppy as they are born. ❤️

From show dogs one day to sport dogs the next!

Friday NADD and Barn Hunt Event...
*Torque earned one leg to his Open Barn Hunt Title after a hiccup of peeing in the ring and NQing himself. And he earned one more leg to his Air Retrieve Title!

*Kane FINALLY went off the dock and earned 4 legs towards his Dock Novice Title! So proud of him.

*Bixby finally got to compete again after a long road of recovery from a dock injury last fall. Safe to say she missed competition life haha.

The UKC show on Saturday...
*Rylee and Holly earned a Reserve, 2 Firsts, and 2 Thirds.
*Kimber and River earned a First and two Second place ribbons.
*Between Kara and Rylee, Prada earned a First, Best of Breed, Best male/female, and a Group Second!

Saturday NADD and Barn Hunt event
*Torque earned his first Air Retrieve Title! Air Retrieve has not been his favorite game so reaching that distance is a very proud moment! *Entered him into Crazy 8s in Barn Hunt for the first time and he got 3 rats, tunnel, and climb with me calling one fault on a litter. Found we have some training to do as he kinda stopped hunting after Rat #2 since he's used to Open class and only finding 2 rats and being done. He was on his 4th rat and I was in the middle of raising my hand and saying Rat when time was called. Still so happy he jumped in and trusted me that there were actually more Rats than usual.

*Bixby got a leg towards Master title in Air Retrieve because she jumped out of senior division at 18'! Good job Bixby.

*Kane earned his Dock Novice title! Good job buddy! Getting Kane off the dock has been a struggle for the last year. He finally did it! He's not a big jumper but hopefully he will gain confidence and start jumping further.

Sunday NADD and Barn Hunt Event
*Torque got second fastest time in Hydrodash today! He really is a beast in the water. Out swam by Xtra though haha. (Good job Xtra!)
*Kimber ran Torque in Distance on the dock for me today. Got 18'9" which is actually a bit short for his normal but he's not used to Kimber running him and she didn't throw his toy in time so he started to slow down on the dock. Still proud she ran him without me though. I was busy helping in the rat ring though, so was great that she stepped up and helped Torque earn Hard Charger!
*Torque nailed this last Barn Hunt run! He immediately tunneled the second I turned him loose, found a rat, moved on as soon as I took it, climbed on the bales, and instantly found the second rat securing High in Class for Open and earning his Open title! This boy continues to amaze me.

*Bixby seems to be getting a bit faster in Hydrodash as well and she definitely enjoyed her distance jump today.

Congratulations to everyone else on all your hard earned Qs and new titles earned! As always it's great to see you all!

Can't wait for the next Dog Show (possibly Davenport for International) and Sports Events!

# # # EVACUATION AREA FAMILIES! # # #

If you need a place for you and/or your animals, reach out. It's that time of year where we as a community need to be on high alert for our own and others, and do whatever we can to help out.

Our place (Full House Ranch) can house livestock (horses/sheep/goats/etc). If you are able to bring panels that would be helpful, but we can make do with what we have for a few without problem. We can also take a few dogs (outside kennel set ups). We could take more but would need a few 5x6 kennel gates to put up more kennels. (Welded wire kennel gates to prevent escapes)

We are in Clayton by Deer Park and are currently safe from any fires here (*praying that it stays that way*).

We have a live in quarters horse trailer and can offer a place to stay for a family in need. Sorry it's not elaborate. We can set it up with an extension cord for you to charge phones and if you have a plug in AC you could run that in there. It's an older (newer to us) trailer and we haven't fixed the AC in the trailer so we have to figure out a small plug in AC for it.

We also have room for tents to be set up near power and water for families.

***The picture is from the Ford Corkscrew Fire, August 17th, 2021. We had to evacuate our animals and were lucky enough to have someone else make a similar offer. Fortunately we were blessed and our place didn't burn.***

Passed her CGC and her Novice Trick Dog one day before she turned 6 months old!

So proud of this little pup. She's so smart and learns so fast. So far she's the youngest dog we have put a CGC on. ❤️
She could get her Intermediate Trick title as well. Just need one more trick on a video for that because we couldn't show it in person without the item so I'll get a video of that and she will have her intermediate Tick title as well.

This next weekend we have a very busy weekend.
NADD event all weekend and also a UKC show Saturday.
Holly will be shown by Rylee.
River will be shown by Kimber.

Holly received her Intermediate Trick Dog title tonight! I had to get a video of a doorbell 😂.

4 titles before she's officially 6 months old. Can't complain about that!
