Mama, you were never meant to do postpartum alone.

Mama University is a 7-week postpartum support series that meets every Wednesday, giving you and your baby a consistent place to get out of the house, connect with other moms, learn from incredible local experts, and truly build your village. 👶🏼✨

What a great day in the Mama University classroom! 🤍👶🏼

Today we had the pleasure of learning from Pediatric Occupational Therapist Alison DeSomma Alison - OTR/L | IBCLC | infant massage educator and somehow she packed SO much helpful information into our short time together!

Our mamas learned simple, practical ways to support their babies through everyday movement and development—from helping with sitting and safely transitioning down, to tummy discomfort, positioning, and what to look for when baby seems to prefer turning or looking toward one side. 👐🏼✨

One of my favorite things about these classes is giving moms tools they can actually take home and use with their babies right away. Sometimes the smallest adjustments can make such a difference!

Alison, thank you for sharing your knowledge so generously, answering our questions, and helping our mamas feel more confident supporting their little ones. We are so grateful to have you as part of our Mama U community! 💛

🌟 Class Tomorrow at Mama University! 🌟

We are so excited to welcome the incredible Alison DeSomma back to lead this week’s session!

Alison is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM)—but beyond her credentials, she brings such a gentle, supportive approach to helping mamas better understand and connect with their babies. 💛

With her whole-body approach, Alison helps families understand their babies’ motor, sensory, and early feeding development, while showing us how simple moments of touch, movement, and connection can support development and regulation. 🤱🏽✨

This week’s class will walk you through:
👶🏽 Key developmental milestones
👐🏾 Practical ways to support your baby’s growth and development
💞 Simple ways to encourage bonding, connection, and regulation at home

🎶 Tomorrow at Mama University: Music, Movement & Connection! 🎶

We’re so excited to welcome Emily Richardson of Wildflower Music Makers back to the Mama University classroom tomorrow! 🌸💕

Emily is an early childhood and family music educator with more than 16 years of experience helping little ones—and the grown-ups who love them—connect through the joy of music.

Tomorrow, our mamas and babies will get to experience firsthand how something as simple as singing, moving, and making music together can support development while creating beautiful moments of connection. 🥹

During class, we’ll:
🎵 Learn simple ways to incorporate music into everyday routines
🧠 Explore how rhythm, movement, and music support baby’s developing brain and body
🥁 Play with instruments, songs, and movement
💕 Most importantly—laugh, connect, and make sweet memories together

One of our favorite things about Mama University is bringing local experts into the classroom who give our mamas practical tools while also reminding us that connection doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it looks like sitting on the floor, singing a silly song, shaking an instrument, and watching your baby light up. ✨

We can’t wait to sing, sway, play, and learn together tomorrow!
