SRVRTC Summer Camp: An Unforgettable Week!

What an absolutely amazing week at SRVRTC Summer Camp! We were thrilled to welcome 40 incredible students across 4 dynamic programs, and it is mind-blowing to look at how much these students learned and accomplished in just five short days! From hands-on skills to new friendships, they crushed it every single day.

I want to give a massive shout-out to a brand-new initiative this year: offering community service hours to high school students. A huge thank you to the 7 high schoolers who stepped up and dedicated an impressive 124 hours of community service to help make this week run smoothly!

In addition to our community service crew, we had two high school students step into the role of Teaching Assistants. Having them in the classrooms providing peer support and leadership was absolutely fantastic, and they did an incredible job mentoring the younger campers.

An incredible week like this doesn't happen without an amazing team working hard both in and out of the classroom:

Our Dedicated Teachers: A massive thank you to Chef K, Mr. Burnett, Mr. Brenner, and Mr. Pope for coming in during your summer hours and working hard to inspire these kids!
Camp Support: A special shout-out to Mr. Milbourn for stepping in and doing an amazing job helping out Mr. Pope! Your teamwork made a huge difference.

Jess Howe (Administrative Assistant): Thank you for doing all of the behind-the-scenes work to make sure this camp ran flawlessly. You kept everything moving perfectly!

Mr. Thomas & The Entrepreneurship Class: Huge props to Mr. Thomas and his class for making and designing our camp t-shirts this year! They looked amazing and gave the camp the perfect touch.

The campers came in excited every single morning and brought unmatched energy to the programs.

Thank you so much to the parents for signing your students up and supporting a truly great week of CTE exploration. We are so proud of all our campers and can't wait to see what they build, create, and achieve next!

CTE CommuniTE Day!
What an absolutely incredible day for SRVRTC Today’s CommuniTE Day wasn’t just a success—it was a powerful reminder of exactly what makes this community so special. If you were out and about, you saw it firsthand: our students weren't just volunteers, they were the absolute rockstars and true professionals of the day. While the weather was perfect, the energy brought by our students and staff was even better. This event was the result of months of meticulous planning, and seeing it all come together to give the Claremont School District a massive win was nothing short of inspiring.
The Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center students tackled an enormous workload with expert precision. The Building Construction crew transformed the look of Monadnock Park by painting over the old green paint, installing a brand-new banister in the announcing booth, and mulching the grounds. Over at Moody Park, the Plumbing students worked extremely hard on a vital conservation project and spent the day trimming trails. The spirit of service continued as our Entrepreneurship students hung new lights on Pleasant Street, and the Medical Assisting team put their skills to work at the community garden. Back at the school, Addie Derosier showed incredible dedication by updating the painting in the Stevens Gym, leaving a lasting mark on her home turf.Our CMS Camp program at the Tech are proving it’s never too early for CTE! By cleaning up the old preschool area and painting picnic tables, these students are learning that positive behavior and hard work go hand-in-hand with professional skills. We make sure they are always included in what we do, using these hands-on projects to build character and a strong work ethic!
We truly could not have pulled this off without our incredible partners. Working with the Community Center, Arrowhead, and the Wheel House was an absolute joy, and it was clear the students were extra excited to give back to the very places they visit and enjoy so often. We are also deeply grateful for the local support that fueled our work: Maurice Enterprise for the use of the dump trailer, Ross and Sam at Century 21 Highview Realty for donating the paint and supplies for the gym, LaValley’s Building Supplies for the paintbrushes, and North Country Smokehouse for providing those delicious sausages to keep us going!
Most importantly, I want to say a massive thank you to the staff who went along with my crazy idea. An undertaking this big requires a team that is willing to jump in with both feet, and we simply could not have done it without your support and hard work.
Every single student truly shined today. This is the heart of Claremont, the mission of Stevens High School, and exactly what SRVRTC is all about—helping the community that has done so much for us. You worked hard, you acted with professional grace, and you made your city proud. Stay tuned for more photos coming soon! Today was a win for the district, a win for the city, and a win for the future of Claremont. Go Cardinals!

SRVRTC CommuniTE Day is officially here! Today, our students are out in full force, giving back to the community that supports them. If you see groups in bright green shirts, they are proud representatives of the Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Claremont Community Center, Arrowhead, and The Wheel House for partnering with us and providing meaningful projects for our students. We look forward to making this a long-standing annual tradition!
