We proudly recognize Rochelle Wood, nominee for Arts Equity Collective’s Woman of the Year Award, a woman whose faith and resilience have carried her through unimaginable storms.
“I’m Rochelle Wood and I don’t look like what I’ve been through. I became pregnant at 18, battled depression and suicidal thoughts, endured unhealthy relationships, and faced the challenges of raising five sons while often putting myself last. Life tested me in ways I never imagined, but each time I fell, I found the strength through God to get back up and keep going. In 2021, my world changed forever when my son Josiah was taken by gun violence at just 21 years old. Through unimaginable pain, God gave me purpose — to use my voice to support mothers and families navigating grief, trauma, and life’s hardest moments. My story is not just about pain; it’s about faith, resilience, survival, and turning tragedy into purpose.”
Join us as we honor Rochelle Wood at the Arts Equity Collective Survivor’s Awards, Ball, Workshop & Fashion Show on June 26–27, 2026.
