Being the first Black principal and female made some question, “Will she be able to uphold the standards of our school?”

Yes, I heard you, and I showed you.

This is my story!

Sunday Gratitude ✨
Last year around this time, I shared a post about resilience, loss, and pushing forward through a slower season in business. Reading it again today reminded me just how far I’ve come.
In 2016, I lost my mom—my best friend and my biggest cheerleader. Her strength still carries me, especially on quiet Sundays like this one.
Even during seasons that didn’t move as fast as I hoped, I kept showing up. I kept smiling. I kept pouring into others. And doors continued to open.
Today, I’m grateful for:
✨ The opportunities that grew out of consistency
✨ The people and communities I’ve been able to impact
✨ The reminders that slow seasons are still seasons of purpose
If you’re in a stretch of uncertainty, keep going. Your impact is unfolding, even when you can’t see it yet.
Happy Sunday 💛

There’s a lot of school data to track but let’s take a closer look at discipline data.

This morning a teacher asked, “Did you see what your cup says?” Of course, I did. 🤩How could I miss such a positive message. “Good morning Gorgeous!” Thank you , this was the perfect start to a day full of trainings and meetings. It’s going to be a great day! 💖

Opening the doors of Global Success Academy by September 2025 is an uphill battle due to funding and shifts from Ohio EdChoice Scholarships. While microschools are designed to be tuition-based, it is impossible to believe that tuition alone can fully cover the school's needs. If any organizations would like to partner to make education more equitable and accessible to English Language Learners and high school students seeking to become biliterate, please reach out to me.

"Among the 9,000 districts New America researchers examined, those with more than 25% of students in poverty on average are losing 5.1 times more dollars per pupil from Titles II-A, III-A, IV-A, and IV-B—the largest K-12 funding sources the administration is holding back—than districts with fewer than 10% of students in poverty."

🚨 Global Success Academy Update 🚨

I’ve always believed in the power of education to transform lives—especially for students who’ve been traditionally marginalized. My vision for Global Success Academy was (and still is) bold: to provide students in Cincinnati with a high-quality, bilingual, and career-focused education that prepares them for both college and the workforce. I wanted to flood our city with young, empowered, bilingual high school graduates ready to lead.

Right now, that vision is in limbo.

With the current national climate and significant funding cuts in areas critical to launching and sustaining a thriving microschool, it's becoming harder to see a clear path forward for a September 2025 opening.

That said—this dream is not dead. I am still actively looking for funding opportunities, students, partners, and a location that can help bring Global Success Academy to life. It may take more time than I hoped, but I know the need is there—and one day, this vision will become a reality.

🤝 If you know of any grants, funders, available spaces, or communities in need of a school like Global Success Academy, please reach out. Your support could help make the difference.

Thank you for believing in the mission. More to come. 💛

What is a microschool?
It’s a modern twist on a one-room schoolhouse—small class sizes, customized learning, and BIG results.
At Global Success Academy, students receive individual attention, a culturally responsive curriculum, and real-world learning experiences that traditional models often miss.
🎯 Think: Less testing. More teaching.
