All the students at Blue Ash helped to finish our school-wide sculpture with a layer of colorful artwork! Each year, Mr. Schmidt makes a sculpture and the kids finish it by coloring recycled book pages which are then glued to the outside. The eagle will go to the district art show at the high school in February before it hangs in its permanent home in our cafeteria.

Kindergartners read Mr. Schmidt's book, The Art Teacher is Weird, and used their creativity to draw the weirdest version of him they could imagine!

Our 4th graders are learning about a (literal) great heart while studying the book, The Circulatory Story! 🫀📚

We’re excited to feature Mr. Korn’s class as they dive into learning about the circulatory system and how the heart keeps our bodies moving!

Our 3rd graders put their STEAM skills to work last spring by designing and planting garden beds. This fall, they got to enjoy the fruits of their labor by harvesting fresh tomatoes and sharing beautiful marigolds! 🍅🌼

A big thank you to the Blue Ash PTO for funding this project, our parent volunteers, and everyone who helped make the fall harvest a success!

Our second graders are becoming math masters! This week, our students dived into the world of comparison symbols (> , < , and =) by turning math into a friendly competition.
Our young mathematicians teamed up for a dynamic partner game that mixes addition and critical thinking. Here is how they played:
Spin & Roll: One partner spun a two-digit number, while the other rolled a one-digit number.
Add it Up: Partners worked together to add the two numbers to find their total.
Compare: Students had to figure out if their total was greater than, less than, or equal to 20, using their new math symbols to prove it!
Learning math is always better when it is hands-on and collaborative. Check out these brilliant minds in action! 🧠✨

🌿 Learning, caring, and making a difference! Mrs. Ostrowski’s homeroom fed the birds at Blue Ash this week and learned how to fill the feeders. We love seeing our students take responsibility while showing care for nature!

Our amazing teachers have been working so hard to get their classrooms ready for the school year! They are officially back in action next week. We would love to help celebrate all of their hard work!

If you’d like to support our incredible staff by filling the staff lounge with drinks and snacks before students arrive, we would love your donations! We are collecting the following items:

* Bottled water
* Coffee & tea
* Soft drinks
* Water flavor packets
* Individually wrapped sweet or salty snacks

Any donation items can be dropped off at Blue Ash Elementary starting today (August 5th) through Friday (August 7th) from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

It may seem like a small gesture, but having a welcoming lounge stocked with treats reminds our educators that they’re seen, appreciated, and supported from the very beginning of the year.

What a fun Field Day on Friday! Our students had a blast. A big thank you to Mr. Weeks for all of his hard work in organizing such a fantastic day for our school!

The 4th graders did a fantastic job singing, dancing, and accompanying themselves on instruments during their 4th Grade Celebration, The Power of Music, The Power of Us. 🎶

Their performance made us laugh, clap, celebrate, and even shed a few tears during some truly touching moments. We are so proud of all of their hard work, talent, and growth.

Thank you, Mrs. Kremp, for all of the time and effort you put into the performance. We are so grateful for your talent and dedication!
