4 Paws for Ability is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers. Here at UC, we help by socializing and do basic training for their service dogs.

4 Paws for Ability is a non-profit organization that was started in 1998 by Karen Shirk. She was denied a service dog by organizations. This is when 4 Paws for Ability was started. Their goal is to Enrich the lives of children with disabilities by the training and placement of quality, task trained service dogs to provide increased independence for the children and assistance to their families. Here at UC, students have the opportunity to stand behind this organization and lend a helping hand by socializing and training service dogs for a semester.
