A message from President Dr. Monica Posey:
Welcome to Fall 2016, the start of a new academic year. I’m pleased to continue our journey together as the President of Cincinnati State.
The 2015-16 academic year brought us many changes and challenges, and we should expect new challenges in the year ahead. However, there is so much opportunity and positive energy here at the College that I know it will be a great year.
Over the next few weeks, the data on enrollment, student success, and other key indicators will be finalized, and I will share that information with everyone on September 12th at the State-of-the-College address. It is likely that Fall 2016 enrollment will be lower than Fall 2015, but all of you can be proud of your efforts to change the trend.
I am excited about several new initiatives that will help our students while also promoting Cincinnati State as a truly comprehensive community college. Examples of these projects include establishing a highly visible Transfer Center, providing upgrades for some of our science and technology-related labs and equipment, beginning a Food Pantry to assist students-in-need, and expanding our CState Accelerate pilot program to help more students achieve their college degree more efficiently. Specifics of these initiative will be shared on September 12th as well.
During the 2016-17 year, I hope to improve communications across the College. The Daily News will be returning to “daily,” although in a simpler form; you will hear more updates from Executive Team members; and I will continue to provide opportunities for feedback and dialogue.
Again, welcome and best wishes for this new academic year.
-President Dr. Monica Posey
