This year, Friends Along A Path is bringing families together for something a little different — Be Kindgiving!
Our theme is simple:
💛 BE KIND. 💛
Be kind to yourself.
Be kind to others.
Be understanding.
Be accepting.
And most importantly, be yourself.
Be Kindgiving was created especially with autistic and neurodivergent families in mind. We know traditional holiday gatherings can sometimes bring stress, sensory challenges, food struggles, and expectations that don't work for every family.
So we're creating a Thanksgiving where your family can simply be your family.
🍽️ Bring your child's favorite dish!
It doesn't have to be traditional Thanksgiving food. If your child loves pizza, tacos, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, cookies, or something completely different — bring it!
There is no judgment. There are no expectations about what Thanksgiving “should” look like.
We want to come together, share food, make memories, connect with other families, and remind every child and every parent that they belong. 🧡

🧡🦃 **A Different Kind of Thanksgiving… A Be Kind Thanksgiving** 🦃🧡

This November, **Friends Along A Path (FAAP)** is hoping to bring our families together for something a little different—a **Be Kind Thanksgiving**.

We are currently working on securing a Civic Center for this special gathering, and if everything comes together, we want to create a Thanksgiving that is truly about **our children, our families, and belonging.**

For many autistic and neurodivergent children, traditional holiday gatherings can be overwhelming. New places, unfamiliar foods, loud noises, large crowds, changes in routine, and expectations to sit, eat, socialize, or “act a certain way” can turn what is supposed to be a joyful celebration into a stressful experience.

And sometimes, families find themselves worrying about how their child will be perceived instead of simply enjoying the moment.

**We want to change that.** ❤️

Our Be Kind Thanksgiving will not be about having the “perfect” Thanksgiving dinner.

It will be about having a **safe, accepting, and judgment-free place to be together.**

We want every family to bring their child’s **favorite dish**—not because it is traditional, but because **their child loves it.** 🍕🍗🍝🥔🍪

Maybe their favorite food isn't turkey.

Maybe they don't eat Thanksgiving foods at all.

Maybe they eat the same thing every day.

**And that's okay.**

There will be no judgment. No pressure. No expectations that our children have to fit into someone else's idea of what Thanksgiving should look like.

There will simply be **kindness, understanding, laughter, friendship, and acceptance.** 🧡

We want our children to walk into the room and know:

**“I belong here.”**

We want parents to be able to take a breath and enjoy the day without worrying about whether their child is being “too loud,” “too quiet,” “too picky,” “too active,” or “not social enough.”

We want siblings to feel included.

We want parents to meet other parents who understand.

And most importantly, we want our kids to have a place where they can be **exactly who they are.**

Because Thanksgiving isn't about the perfect meal.

It's about **being together.**

It's about gratitude.

It's about family.

It's about community.

And above all…

**It's about kindness.** 🧡

We hope our Be Kind Thanksgiving can become a special tradition for our FAAP families—a place where everyone has a seat at the table, even if their seat looks a little different.

More details will be shared as we work on securing the Civic Center and finalizing the date.

For now, we simply want you to know:

**You are welcome.
Your child is welcome.
Your family belongs.**

Hello everyone. We are moving forward and I am soooo excited. I am healing from surgery but still working on it. We have a meeting on August 8 at 2pm so we can talk about us! If your interested please let me know and well get you the link!

Thursday was a success I feel! We spent our evening at Clermont DD Red White and Bloom! We raised over 60 dollars of the 300 and reached alot of families!

Randall won the date night raffle.

Tammy L. Myers won the silent Auction for a Syrus Brook's original drawing!

Francis won the girl and Leland won the boy! Thanks you House of Plastik Vintage Toys and Collectibles for their donation of the items!
