Friends and Family -
I got this idea from a fellow teacher friend on Facebook and thought it was such an amazing idea, I just had to do it myself!
As all of you know, I am a Kindergarten teacher in an underprivileged school district in Cincinnati. The majority of my students are African American. After taking an inventory of my classroom library, I have discovered that the books in my classroom library DO NOT reflect the students in my classroom. This is concerning and I'm wanting to rectify this immediately.
This is where I need your help. I do not know if we will be in the classroom fully but I do know I will have the opportunity to read aloud to my students even if it is just by videos on Google Meet. I have attached an Amazon wish list with several books that reflect the ethnicity, genders, and backgrounds of my students. I am constantly adding to this list but I was going to reach out to you amazing people to see if you would be interested in purchasing one or more books from this list? I believe that you can just go to the list and choose to ship it to me.
