At the Frank Foster Summer Jazz Camp, we are committed to bringing world-class musicians and educators to our students. In that spirit, we’re looking forward to welcome saxophonist, composer and educator Bruce Williams to Cincinnati!

Bruce Williams is a powerful jazz saxophonist who hails from our nation's capital of Washington, D.C. He has four recordings as a leader under his belt and more than 30 as a sideman. He’s toured the world in both roles, performing with the World Saxophone Quartet, Jimmy Scott, Frank Foster, Russell Gunn, Cecil Brooks III, Count Basie Orchestra, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Ben Riley and Roy Hargrove among others. Bruce is Adjunct Professor of Jazz Saxophone at Montclair State University and has taught at Princeton University, the New School and New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He currently serves as an ensemble coach for The Juilliard School’s jazz department.

After a couple weeks off, we’re excited to return with week’s Faculty Friday featuring our Jazz Theory & Improvisation Instructor Justin Dawson.

Justin Dawson is a highly in demand bass player in Cincinnati and the Greater Midwest area. His skills and musicality on the acoustic and electric bass have allowed him to play with some of the best musicians in the world including Randy Brecker, Smokey Robinson, Antonio Hart, Terrell Stafford and Ralph Stanley to name a few. Justin is the curator of the weekly jam session at and will be releasing his first album under his name “Overflow” in the spring of 2026.

We’re very excited to have such an active member of the Cincinnati music scene work with our students!

This week, meet our co-producer Ziaire Trinidad Sherman.

Ziaire is baritone saxophonist, producer and sound artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. Through his vast skillset, he has traveled all over showcasing the his connection to the music of the black diaspora. He’s an alumni of Berklee College of Music and is currently pursing a Masters of Fine Arts in Sonic Practice from Dartmouth College.

We are truly grateful to have Ziaire holding us together as we initiate this program. Who else do you think is on the staff?

Welcome to our first installment of Faculty Fridays! This gives us the chance to introduce you to our amazing faculty we have for our camp.

This week, meet our founder and program director Myles Ellington Twitty!

Myles is a trumpeter, composer, arranger and educator from Cincinnati, OH. At 26, he’s already played with some of today’s prominent Jazz luminaries including: Rodney Whitaker, Dr. Eddie Henderson, Jerome Jennings, and Frank Vignola to name a few. He’s an alumni of the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music and is currently pursuing his Masters of Music in Jazz Studies at Montclair State University.

We’re so grateful to have Myles with us as we initiate this program. Tune in next week for our next faculty Fridays!
