Attention future livestock exhibitors! The Calumet County Fair is officially accepting entries for the Young Showman Showmanship Class, happening on Friday, September 4, 2026.
This exciting tradition is open to beef, sheep, and swine showmen ages 5 to 8 (as of January 1 of the current year) who want to start building their knowledge and skills in showing animals. To ensure the safety of all participants, pre-registration is required.
Here is what you need to know to get involved:
- 🐖 Animal Requirements: Participants do not bring their own animals. They are responsible for teaming up with an older youth exhibitor at the fair, learning about their animal ahead of time, and utilizing livestock that is already being exhibited.
- 📋 Registration: Fill out the sign-up form ahead of time by clicking the link in the comments and sending it to the address listed on the form.
- 🤝 In-Person Registration: You can also sign up on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the weigh-in and animal check-in tables in the Harder-Goeldi Building from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Paper copies will be available for parents to fill out.
