Erica here,
Happy July everyone! This morning, a few of our officers hit the road early to help volunteer at the 2026 National Junior Limousin Show & Congress, held at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds this year. We bore the heat while helping participants unload their trailers, settle in, and offered refreshments for them. We got to interact with fellow volunteers and people from many states, and were able to see a small part of the show cattle industry. We had a wonderful time serving our community, and wish all exhibitors the best of luck on this long Fourth of July weekend! 🐮🏆☀️

Happy birthday to Edwin Dun, who was born June 19, 1848 in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was a rancher who helped create the cattle industry in Japan. In 1893, he was appointed as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Japan.

He was the son of John Graham Dun and Elizabeth Claypoole Dun. He studied at Miami University. After inheriting his father's cattle ranch, he became an expert on ranching techniques and wrote several papers on the topic. He lived in Japan for 58 years. He died in 1931 and is buried there. The city of Sapporo has a museum dedicated to him.

His great-grandson is Josh Dun, the drummer for the rock band Twenty One Pilots.
