It’s *Letters & Numbers Week* at *Little Ones Family Childcare*! 🔠

Today we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and then made our very own coconut trees with letters tumbling up the trunk, just like in the book! Some friends peeled sticker letters all by themselves, and some friends practiced with glue and placing letters — both ways are perfect practice!🌴

Today we turned jumbo craft sticks into pencils in two steps. First, we painted the yellow “pencil” section. Once that dried, we added the pink “eraser” to the top. I used painter’s tape to mark off each section so we could practice painting in the lines.

Color Matching Outside 🖍️
I made a giant color-sorting poster with crayon outlines and we worked together to match our little colorful people to the right crayon. Purple people went in the purple crayon, orange in the orange crayon… you get the idea!

Today we read The Crayons Go Back to School together at circle time. We talked about how each crayon felt about school and all the fun activities they did in their classroom.

Then it was our turn to be artists! Each child chose their favorite color to paint their very own crayon template. Once dry, we added googly eyes to bring our crayons to life — just like in the book!

Back to School Week is here!

Today our little learners used glue sticks and paper shapes to build their very own school buses. We talked about the color yellow, the shape of the bus, and sang “The Wheels on the Bus” while we worked.

This simple cut-and-paste craft packs a big learning punch:
*Fine motor skills* - twisting glue sticks + placing small pieces
*Shape recognition* - squares for windows, circles for wheels
*Following directions* - listening to step-by-step
*Hand-eye coordination* - lining up each piece just right
