One thing that makes Family DTS so unique is that outreach preparation starts long before we ever get on a plane.
During lecture phase, families grow together through worship, prayer, teaching, serving, outreach prep, and learning how to live missionally in everyday life. It’s not just about going to the nations, it’s about allowing God to transform your family together along the way ❤️
We’re getting more and more excited as we prepare for the upcoming Family DTS this September at YWAM Chico. So much is already happening behind the scenes, and we’re expectant for all God is going to do in this next season 🙏

Missionaries used to pack their belongings in a casket to go to the mission field, because they did not plan to come home. Today we can be in the other side of the world in a day, video call our family anytime, and are not reliant on “snail” mail for communication. But the laying down of our lives is still the same - All for Jesus.
Eleven of our key YWAM Leaders were tragically killed this weekend in a bus accident. Five more are in hospital in stable condition and 2 others in critical condition. Several others witnessed the accident from another bus, and were first responders to friends and colleagues. They returned to base without partners, roommates, mentors, friends.
After many years of dedication, service, and sacrifice, 11 sons and daughters are with Jesus. Pray for their family and friends and colleagues. YWAMers raise all their own support, and many now have medical bills, funeral costs, repatriation, and lost passports to replace before they can even go home. The cost of saying yes to God’s call, although worth it all, can be high and difficult.

We are looking for a nanny from the US for our fall Family DTS. If you have a heart to serve a family for three months while they equip and train for missions, send us a message!

We serve the God of the Impossible. We need miracles:
1. Two families still need flight money. They are still believing they can leave tomorrow!
2. One family submitted more documents & are still waiting to hear from Immigration. Pray they will hear TODAY!
3. One family is still believing for a visa appointment this week. Pray they hear TODAY!
4. One family has a visa appointment on Thursday, and are believing they will be here by next week

Our prayer tonight is “Increase my faith Lord”.
I am remembering Loren’s story of going to the airport when he didn’t have a ticket, sitting as close to the gate as possible, and leaning towards the gate - doing all he could do and believing God would do the rest. This is the story of these people. Their faith will transform US - YWAM Chico!
Our school theme this season is 1 Cor 5:17 “Walk by faith, not by sight.”

Our Family Discipleship Training School starts in September!

We are looking for a couple of Nannies for some of the families that have already signed up.

If you or someone you know enjoy working with children and are interested in committing 3 months to a family stepping into missions, we would love to connect with you.

Our Fall Schools are in need of some Nannies for families. If you could serve a family in this way, please contact us for more information. It is a 3 month volunteer commitment (Sept-Dec) to families with children under the age of 5. Nannies are such a blessing to our families! And you can enjoy 3 months in California, making new friends as well as sweet time with Jesus in a faith community!

Have you thought about taking a season to invest in your family? Our desire in Family DTS is to equip the whole family to do ministry together, whether that is in the nations or in your home church. This season of 5 months of learning, playing, and serving together will bond you as a family, strengthen your relationship with the Lord and each other, and refocus your life on the things that are most important.
