Hello organic vegetable lovers,

Springtime is here, and that means the Organic Vegetable Project’s CSA Program is about to start. The first box pick up will be on Thursday, May 7th 12pm-4pm and then every Thursday after that. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, because it is people like you who support local farms like us, through programs like this. For our CSA, a monthly subscription fee buys you a share of our harvests. Every week, we curate boxes of our best and most recently harvested organic vegetables and fruits to ensure community members have access to the freshest, in-season, local, organic food. If you are interested, please view the CSA Member Agreement link in the bio for a more detailed breakdown of the program. If you would like to sign up now, respond to this email, letting me know, and I will put you on the list while you arrange for payment. There are limited spots, so sign up now if you can. Organic tomato starts for sale today at the new farm store! These are the same tomatoes we plant at the OVP. We have heirlooms and cherry tomatoes. Also, the strawberries are finally here, and we have bags of ruby red chard. Come check out the new farm store to get a sweet snack and something for your garden. The Organic Vegetable Project is hosting a Composting Workshop on Thursday Nov. 13th 9am-11am at the Chico State Farm. This event is FREE and open to the public. You will learn how to create a compost pile in Dr. Elaine Ingham’s composting technique for high quality, microbially active compost. During the workshop, you will build a compost pile to be the source of the OVP’s input for their compost tea brewer. Declan Ramsay-Malone will be leading the workshop. 311 Nicholas C. One of our biggest goals here at the Organic Vegetable Project is to give students opportunities to learn about organic farming with hands-on experience. Chico State students learn on the farm through classes, internships for credit, and part-time paid positions.
