Hello, my name is MacAdamia . My animal id is #149720. I am a female calico cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years 2 months 2 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/28/2022, with the surrender reason stated as person health - going into care facility.

MacAdamia is on the emergency placement list due to behavior. She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to their stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. She would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers.

❣Poor Quaid has not had an easy life. He was kept in a crate that was too small for him. As a result, his paws were flat and his ears had pressure wounds. He was not shown love or kindness, then let go to fend for himself and has nearly starved. He's still found it in his heart to trust humans again and is need of a real home. His time is up at the Chicago Animal Care & Control. He deserves to live and experience what a loving home is like and shown kindness.

❣ Quaid is super skinny so treats are one of his all time favorite things. He's learning how to take them gently. He's also learning how to enjoy being a dog again now that he's no longer in pain. He is getting lots of TLC and nutrition so is a happier guy already. Quaid is a sweet dog who is adored by all who meet him. He is a very good boy. He will make a PHENOMINAL family pet. Please don't let the shelter be his end. He deserves to live and experience what a loving home is ...forever.

❣Quaid will be neutered and fully vetted upon adoption or fostering. He has gained some much needed weight but needs his forever family to come for him to really benefit from a responsible, caring owner. He will continue to blossom and make a very loyal companion.

❣It's LAST CALL for this sweet pup! Anthem came into the Chicago Animal Care & Control as a stray in early July. He has developed kennel stress due to being confined close to 24/7. Dogs who exhibit kennel stress are more prone to getting euthanized as the shelter doesn't want them to suffer nor develop behavioral issues. Anthem is in dire need of a home ASAP to make it out of the shelter alive.

❣Anthem is a healthy, young male pit mix with adorable black and white markings. Anthem is super sweet and loves being next to his people. He can self entertain with a toy and takes treats gently. Please help Anthem make it out of the shelter alive! He needs one adoptor or foster to help him ASAP.

❣Anthem will be neutered and vetted upon adoption or fostering. Anthem needs a home that will provide opportunities for him to get plenty of exericse. He's a beautiful, sweet dog who will make an excellent addition to any home. Let's not let poor Anthem lose his young life and become another casualty.
