You feel like you’re always in a hurry, almost like you’re rushing around to get s**t done. But it never seems to be enough and you can’t slow down. Whether it’s at work or at home, there’s always something that needs tending to. And you can’t relax until most, if not all, is completed.

You feel this immense pressure in your chest. You feel your heart racing. Your hands are almost shaking because of the high expectation you place on yourself.

When will the day come when you can just breathe a sigh of relief. You can relax and enjoy life in front of you. You can finally hit the pause button and travel the country without worry… worry that there’s too much to do back home so why go anywhere?

When will you feel carefree and present?

You heard somewhere, probably from a song or movie, that life will just keep passing you by. Hearing this just makes you even more sad and anxious because you can’t help yourself.

You’ve heard others talk about how they’ve traveled all over the place last summer and all you did was stay home trying to stay afloat in your own personal life.

That Taylor Swift song “Shake it off” rings in your head. But it’s not that easy.

The people who find me and work with me go through my 5 step system and learn how to let go of impossible life expectations and become less stressed. When they become less stressed, they are more confident and can live a life full of abundance!

You ​​should've said "No" but that's not you.

You feel guilty for canceling at the last minute but it’s complicated… You don’t want to cancel but you’re so overwhelmed with anxiety you’re too much in your head that having fun isn’t even possible. You’d rather stay at home than face small talk and any uncomfortableness.

The next day rolls around and the guilt punches you in the gut. You did it again!

You tell yourself “I won’t cancel at the last minute anymore.”

“Why can’t I get it together and just go with the flow?”

If you’re living your life according to everyone else’s expectations and saying ‘yes’ to everything, eventually your mind and body are going to decide for you-- to cancel plans at the last minute. You’re exhausted.. Physically, mentally, emotionally.

All you want to do is be able to say ‘No’ when you don’t want to do something. You want to go out with friends and family and enjoy yourself on your terms. You don’t want to be known as “The Flake” of your friends group.

People will tell you “Just decide to do it and you will.” It should be that easy, to say no.

Right?

Wrong!

When you’re a people pleaser, saying “Yes” to work projects, plans with friends and family, leaves little time for you to decompress. You’re always on the go, always stressed and always anxious you’ll mess up.

You feel like you’re never going to be consistent. Everything you start, like updating your resume or eating healthy, you stop. When s**t gets hard and uncomfortable, or you believe you made a fool of yourself, you quit. You’re still at the job you see no future at. You feel stuck. You surprise yourself every time you cross things off your to-do list.

What you want is to make a change with your life. You NEED to make a change. You want to feel confident and strong. You want to be consistent and actually follow through with what you say you’re going to do.

You're not alone in feeling this way. If you’re tired of starting over, stop giving up. It's not a big deal. You’re just making it a big deal… Do those phrases sound familiar to you? It’s what “they” tell you when you’re struggling and searching for answers.

I’m here to tell you that what you’re feeling -- frustrated, annoyed, stressed, anxious -- is valid. I’ve been there. You feel stuck in your life, and it’s really difficult to not focus on making as many changes you think will get you unstuck.

I’m here to tell you that it is possible to take small steps, instead of diving into a blackhole, towards feeling confident and less anxious.

Hey! Is this you?

“When will I finally move up in my career? It's taking forever.“

“I'm not worthy of achieving my goals.”

“I always screw something up.”

“Life can't possibly be good for me.”

You know deep down you deserve a raise. You’re already hard working but desire to have confidence wherever the day takes you. You want to feel good about scheduling self care time just for yourself. You want to feel like you’re in control of your life and not feeling like you’re losing control around you.

People around you tell you to “go for it!”

They tell you “Don’t worry, everything will work itself out.”

They might say, “It’s okay to take 5 minutes for yourself as a form of self care.”

Hey lady! Can you just pause for a second?

Think about your current reality.

Do any of these statements ring true for you?

I wish I could have a day where my head wouldn't spin.
I am so stressed out!
Work is so stressful.
There's not enough hours in the day.

If so, you’re not alone in feeling this way and it’s totally a valid feeling. In fact, aren’t some of these a common response when you’re asked “How’s work been going? How’s life been for you?”

Or maybe your common response is, “Everything’s fine. Just busy.”

When really you’re losing your s**t internally and wish you could have one week where you don’t feel like you’re scrambling.

You desire a moment in your life where you feel calm, less on edge, and more carefree.

You desire to feel confident and strong in every part of your life.

You desire a self care day just for you and no one else, especially without the guilt.

You desire to feel sure of yourself to ask for a raise at work you know you deserve.

People tell you to “Fake it til you make it.”

Or

“I know exactly what you're going through-- If I can do it, you can too!”

Cool… Thanks, but that’s not helpful.

Picture this:
It’s Sunday night, you’re putting your lunch together and thinking about the upcoming week.

You remember the
-- doctor’s appointment on Tuesday
-- the big presentation at work on Wednesday you still need to prep for (in front of your boss)
-- date night
-- pick up cupcakes for your friend’s birthday
-- not to mention all the miscellaneous daily to dos like cooking dinner and showering yourself

All of a sudden you feel this familiar uncertainty in the pit in your stomach. It’s heavy and your heart begins to race, jaw muscles tighten, you start to sweat and overwhelm rushes over you. You start to spiral.

“There's not enough hours in the day.”
“There's so much to do at work, I don't know how I'll meet all those deadlines.”
“It can't be normal to feel this way-- overthinking, constantly worrying, pit in my stomach.”
“I feel like a failure with everything.”

Such is life, right? Isn’t that what you hear from others trying to help calm you down?

Have you had someone tell you this during an anxious spiral:

“There are other people that have it worse than you. Just calm down.”

Cue the eye roll.

“I know there are others that have it worse than me but I can’t help it!” is what I’d like to scream.

Can you relate?

If so, you're not alone; people ask for help everyday and you can too. Living with constant stress and anxiety is difficult, but possible to manage… even in a crazy, busy world.

When you are able to better manage stress and anxiety, feeling calm and confident each day is like a vacation in your own body. It’s a feeling of relief. It’s feeling comfortable in your skin when you give that presentation at work or go out for date night.

“I overbooked myself again!”
“I feel like I'm always on the go and can't slow down.”
“I can’t say no or it’ll hurt their feelings.”
“Saying no will make me look bad.”
“What will my friend and family think about me?”
“I’m feeling super stressed and tired right now.”
“I really feel guilty for canceling at the last minute.”

When you hear “just stop overbooking yourself,” how does that make you feel? Pretty s**tty, right? Guilty? Disappointed in yourself?

Have you had a day where you thought:

“If I don't hang out with my family or call my family most days of the week, I will regret not spend time with them when they are gone.”

“I don't have enough time for anything! I can't go see my friends--there is too much going on.”

“I can't say ‘No’ it'll make me look bad.”

You know you need time to yourself but there’s just not enough hours in a day and the guilt of scheduling self care time doesn’t feel possible.

What if I told you I can help you feel good about scheduling self care time and there IS time for you? You have the opportunity to feel confident in your skin and have trust in yourself to make the right decisions for you.

While it’s annoying to hear friends and family telling you “if you don’t focus on it, it’ll go away in time. Just choose happiness!” Or how about “We all have 24 hours in a day, if I can do it, you can too”?

Damn! How is that helpful?! Getting through the day is a struggle and concentrating at work almost seems impossible.

What’s helped me during these moments is a system I created called The Stress Free System. It’s a 5 step system that has helped me go from stressed out and constant go-go-go to better managed stress and living a more abundant, confident life.
