1. Choose schools whose mission statement aligns with your personal goals and values, especially if you have specific interests in primary care, rural medicine, research, and/or specific patient populations. Does the school have strengths in certain specialties that interest you?

2. Where do you want to spend at least 4 years of your life? Near family or a support system or exploring somewhere new? Rural or urban setting?

3 quick tips to level up your med school personal statement 🩺✨
1. Don’t spend too much time thinking of a hook to open your statement. Medical school officers do like an interesting opening, but they also like you to get to the point
2. Show your passion through real, specific moments, and not just claims
3. Reflect deeply to highlight your growth, empathy, and maturity
