I'm still blown away by the incredible response to . Much love and appreciation to for the extra push 🙂. When we started this journey, our goal was simple: to give our guests a unique experience by honoring their stories with care—and, in doing so, bring inspiration to everyone who listens or watches.
A huge thank you to all the amazing guests who trusted us with their stories and gave their time. And of course, none of this would be possible without an extraordinary team: to my friends at Gambit Films, thank you; , for being a phenomenal host; , for producing this show on the fly; , for literally bringing these stories to life through your edits; and Kagiso, for holding it all down behind the scenes.

I’m incredibly proud of How It All Began. What started as a simple idea—to give detailed insight into the stories behind the success of amazing people in film, TV, corporate, music, and sports—has grown into an inspiring show that I’m honored to share.
I’m blown away by the phenomenal individuals who trusted us with their stories on a brand-new platform. As I look at this poster, I feel truly blessed to have featured:
Tom MacDougall – President of Walt Disney Music
Deborah Cox – R&B royalty
Robbie Brozin – Co-founder of Nando’s
Ilfenesh Hadera – Celebrated actress
Siya Kolisi – Iconic South African rugby captain and humanitarian
Omar Dorsey – Phenomenal actor
Jonathan Butler – Legendary South African singer-songwriter
Dominique Thorne – Marvel’s newest superhero, Ironheart
Warryn Campbell – Super producer behind countless R&B, hip-hop, and gospel hits
I can’t thank them enough for giving us this opportunity. Their stories will continue to inspire anyone who takes a moment to watch or listen.
This journey wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible team:
Amina, our fabulous producer
Gift, the editor who was in the trenches with me
Kagiso, who held it all together behind the scenes
And Meggan, the face of the show—an amazing actress from Cape Town who stepped out of her comfort zone to host and absolutely excelled.
This is just the beginning. Season 2 is on the horizon, and I can’t wait to share what’s next. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to our YouTube channel (link in bio) and share these episodes with your friends so they too can be inspired.

🎬 Season 1 Finale – How It All Began is here!
Creating a podcast wasn’t on my list of projects this year, but I’m incredibly grateful we made it happen. My hope is that the stories shared by our guests have truly inspired and uplifted everyone who watched or listened.
Our final episode is a special one—a wrap-up conversation reflecting on the journey of bringing this show to life.
Huge thanks to:
Bradley Joshua at Gambit Films for being open to my “crazy” idea.
Amina, our amazing producer and editor for the final episodes.
Kagiso, who held things down behind the scenes.
Gift, whose dedication and care in editing the show blew me away. I’ll forever be grateful for your contribution.
And Meggan-Lee Johnstone—I flew to Cape Town in April to audition hosts and ended up finding not just a host, but a friend and someone I believe will make a major impact in TV, film, theatre, and beyond. Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone and shining so brightly.
To our guests—thank you for believing in a brand-new show. I’m humbled and forever grateful. 🙏🏾

Up next on is the one and only
It’s an absolute honor to have Siya join us—he’s an iconic figure in the world of rugby and a true inspiration. As the first Black captain in the history of South Africa’s national team, the Springboks, Siya led them to back-to-back Rugby World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023.
But his impact goes far beyond the pitch (field). Through the Kolisi Foundation, Siya is changing lives—addressing food security, gender-based violence, education, and access to sports across South Africa.
His story is powerful, emotional, and deeply inspiring. It’s a reminder that anything is possible when purpose meets perseverance. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this episode as much as I did.
