Illinois service members are getting new, long-lasting homes and specialized care through Richard Group's Green Homes for Veterans project!

This project, located in Danville, Ill., represents a significant advancement in veteran care facility design, combining the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ "Small House" initiative with comprehensive sustainable building practices. This project emerged from the recognition that as the veteran population ages and requires increasingly complex care, the buildings that house them must be robust, reliable, and built to perform consistently over decades.

Our case study of this project demonstrates that when serving veterans who have earned the highest quality of care and facilities, sustainable construction becomes not just an environmental choice but a fundamental requirement for building excellence and long-term performance.

Today, we're celebrating Rimjhim Agrawal's one year anniversary at Illinois Green Alliance!

In her role as Program Manager for The Building Energy Hub, Rimjhim works to create tools and education programs that enable building developers, owners, operators/managers, contractors, and other building pros to reduce energy use, lower emissions, and improve performance. That includes the Hub's Finance Fridays—a webinar series to help people find grants, loans, and other financial incentives available to fund their building and energy projects.
